Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Zae and her girls are juniors and cheerleaders at Peakton High School.  They are proud of who they are.  Zae’s life takes a turn when her boyfriend cheats and her parents split.  She loses faith in love and boys.  She refuses to put herself in that situation again.  The author dishes up this idea for Zae and her friends to collect as many kisses from different boys as they can over spring break without falling for the guy.  She wants to give the boys a taste of their own medicine.  It starts out innocent enough until someone begins writing poems about her and things get worse as the truth about her parents begin to come out.  Her mood plummets and she gets a bit dark and determined to punish boys.
However, I like how the author shows her how she is surrounded by more nice guys than she knew.  There are not as many jerks as she thought.  As the story unfolds she must deal with her loss of family and her trust.  I also love the fact that she takes a complete leap of faith.  You can see her change as a result.

The girls were real and believable.  They partied, and they fought.  Their relationship wasn’t perfect and hit bumps along the way.  I liked the realness and their loyalty.  I also liked how the author kept the reader and the girls guessing about the writer of the poems.  It was fun to try and figure out who was doing it.  The ending was awesome.  Zae takes charge and goes after what she wants.  Love how it ends.  I give it a 4 out of 5.
