Review: #Moonstruck (A #Lovestruck Novel) by Sariah Wilson

Book Blurb

Over one million “likes”—but only one of them matters.

After pop star Ryan De Luna praises Maisy Harrison’s YouTube cover of his classic hit, he offers Maisy and her fledgling band the opportunity of a lifetime: to be his opening act.

Music may be Maisy’s life, but she has one ground rule: never date a musician. That goes double for a heartbreaker like Ryan. If only she didn’t feel so vulnerable to his larger-than-life charm. And maybe now more than ever, when he asks for her help to shake off his playboy image. How can she resist playing the part of his fake girlfriend for the duration of the tour?

Ryan’s never met anyone like Maisy. She sees past all the star-studded fame and treats him like any other guy. And the more time they spend together, the more he finds himself falling for her. Now he’d like to make their imaginary fling an IRL thing. But can he convince her to take a chance and trust him with her heart?

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Maisy Harrison is in a band with her brothers.  Her life hasn’t been easy with her absentee father and her mother’s car accident when she was a teen.  She goes to a Ryan De Luna concert with her best friend Angie and her life changes.  She isn’t even a fan.  When they meet face to face, things don’t go well.  She thinks he is a complete jerk and goes on to tell him so.  I loved this scene.  She isn’t a normal groupie dropping at his feet.  He turns around and pushes her buttons even more.  Angie must drag her from the room before she punches him.  HYSTERICAL!

Then he invites her and her brothers to tour with him.  It is an opportunity of a lifetime and she has no clue if she can stay objective when it comes to him.  Their attraction is explosive.  I love the two of them together.  Ryan is so awesome.  Unfortunately, Maisy has some insecurities and issues that sabotage any relationship she has ever had.  It got to the point where she hid behind her fear.  It drove me crazy as her presented strength dissolved as she and Ryan grew closer.  He was working toward a lasting relationship.  He was completely sigh-worthy.  I loved his character.  I also like Maisy.  I lost hope for her for a while, but she came through in the end.  It was a great read.  I give it a 4 out of 5.
