Book Blurb

A tormented past has left Thane with an insatiable need for violence, making him the most dangerous assassin in the skies.

He lives by a single code: no mercy. And as he unleashes his fury on his most recent captor, he learns no battle could have prepared him for the slave he rescues from his enemy's clutches—a beauty who stokes the fires of his darkest desires.

Elin Vale has her own deep-rooted scars, and her attraction to the exquisite warrior who freed her challenges her every boundary.

But Thane's unwavering determination to protect her means she must face her greatest fears—and enter a world in which passion is power, and victory means breathtaking surrender.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Thane is being held in the Phoenix camp as Kendra’s slave.  He doesn’t remember who he is or why he is there.  Kendra’s poison has bound him to her.  Elin is a halfling and treated horribly.  She is determined to leave and decides to help Thane escape.  She steals what will help him and tries to get him to remember.
As Thane remembers, his brothers are able to find him.  They capture the Phoenix people in the camp taking them back to the club.  Thane also takes Elin with him.  He gives her a job as a waitress and she moves in with the rest of the girls.
Elin has a plan of opening a bakery of her own, so she agrees to the job.  She bonds with the girls.  She also is curious about Thane but is warned away.  Plus he hates the Phoenix and she doesn’t want him to know she is half.  He thinks she is human.
However, Thane can’t stop thinking about her.  He can’t stand to see anyone flirting with her or touching her.  He threatens everyone away from her.  He decides that she is his.  He obsesses about her and decides that he wants her.
I loved these guys.  Thane is one of my favorite bad boys.  He was so broken and full of guilt.  It was great to finally read his story, watching him meet his match.  Elin was definitely that.  She was sassy and refused to give up.  Her relationship with the other waitresses was awesome.  The humor was fun to read as the author developed their friendship.

The battle with the demon was a game of cat and mouse for most of the story until the end.  Elin plays a big part as the Sent Ones fight the evil trying to take over the world.  They all had to work together showing how Zacharel’s team is coming together.  It was a great story and I can’t wait to read more.  I give it a 5 out of 5.
