Review: Taint (Sexual Education #1) by S.L. Jennings

Book Blurb

Right now, you’re probably asking yourself two things:
Who am I?
And, what the hell are you doing here?

Let’s start with the most obvious question, shall we?

You’re here, ladies, because you can’t f*ck.

Oh, stop it. Don’t cringe. No one under the age of 80 clutches their pearls.
You might as well get used to it, because for the next six weeks, you’re going to hear that word a lot. And you’re going to say it a lot.
Go ahead, try it out on your tongue.
F*ck. F***ck.

Ok, good. Now where were we?

If you enrolled yourself in this program then you are wholly aware that you’re a lousy lay. Good for you. Admitting it is half the battle.

For those of you that have been sent here by your husband or significant other, dry your tears and get over it. You’ve been given a gift, ladies. The gift of mind-blowing, wall-climbing, multiple-orgasm-inducing sex. You have the opportunity to f*ck like a porn star. And I guarantee, you will when I’m done with you.

And who am I?

Well, for the next six weeks, I will be your lover, your teacher, your best friend, and your worst enemy. Your every-f*cking-thing. I’m the one who is going to save your relationship and your sex life.

I am Justice Drake.
And I turn housewives into whores.

Now…who’s first?

Toot's Review

Taint by S.L. Jennings is a book of a different nature. It's told from the entire story is told from the male's POV; which was a nice choice by the author although he's a sort of an ass (so get used to his snark, male ego and sexism). We get to read his views on everything! Although it’s wildly entertaining it can be very harsh at times. There were literally times when I wanted to reach through the book and slap the crap out of him but I digress.

Justice Drake is a sexpert to the rich housewives whose passions have left the building in the marriage. Drake takes the stance that it's the wives fault that the husbands have strayed and it's his job to put them on the right path again. He teaches the wives (without touching them), the art of pleasuring the man and the woman because who knows better than you then what feels good. It is literally like a college course for these sex-starved housewife socialites and just like most professors, the thrill for sex is gone for Justice. He just goes through the motions, teaching over and over again. He is the epitome of a hypocrite......until he meets Allison.

Allison is kinda in a brangelina type marriage, absolute media darlings until Allison's husband sends her away to the retreat all the while cheating on her himself. We don't get to be in her head but you can tell that her socks are knocked clean off when she meets Justice. From the get go, they are explosive together. She's fun and quirky. Not at all what you'd think a media darling/socialite would be like. She's more like a closet goofball nerd and Justice can't resister her. The two fall quickly into insta-love/lust until word leeks out about the "sexpert to the stars" and their little world comes crashing down around their ears. Secrets are spilled, choices are made and no one is safe from the paps.

Let me preface and spoil this book a little but come on, you know it's coming. If cheating in a marriage is not your cup of tea, skip this book! But if you're like me and know that sometimes people are in the wrong marriage and if the result is a HEA, I'm ok with it. This is a fictional romance BTW.

Now, moving on......

To me it read more like a novella and the timing/pacing of the book was a bit wonky but I love stories like this, so meh, I'm cool with it. It kinda goes like this....40% big build up/sexual tension and the classes he's teaching, 45% their relationship/sex and 15% wrap up/closing drama.

As soon as I finished, I was eager for more but sadly, there isn't more right now. There is book 2 coming out in November but it involves different characters which I'm happy for but also saddened because I really kinda wanted more of the HEA. Maybe the author will weave these two back into the next book as a secondary story line *fingers crossed*

Anywho, if you don't mind the pacing and a "Happily For Now" quick ending, it's a decent read that's unique in its hero, heroine and storyline. I say give it a try.
