Hands.

They were punishing. He grabbed my waist with a feral grip, pulling me to him hard while he thrust into me even harder. The way we both needed it.

There would be bruises in the morning from where his hands found purchase, but I didn’t mind.

The day was the same as the one before as he took from my body, my heart, my soul. In return he gave himself to me the only way he knew how: with bruising hands, passionate kisses, and hard thrusts.

His body was sin, his cock was sin, and I was a sinner.

His hands moved up my thighs, his long, slender fingers playing my body, bending me to his will. They were a delicious torture, just as much as his words.

His lips sucked at my neck, teeth digging in, making my eyes roll back; another mark.

I grinned. He loved marking me, and I loved hiding them from people. They were proof, a reminder of his need, his pleasure.

My tongue ran up the column of his neck before I found the perfect location to mark him as well. The spot I choose, just below his ear, would make it visible, unable to be hidden by the collar of his dress shirt.

It would make his admirers mad with wonder when they came around to bug him the next day. I smiled at the thought of them finding out he was breaking the rules every day with me, and not them.

Hollywood had nothing on us. Awards could be given for the lies we told, and the feelings we hid under a mask of hate and indifference.

He pulled my hair, bringing my focus back to him. His teeth scraped my neck. No doubt leaving small pink trails on my skin. He growled. “You’re not paying attention to my cock, Lila.”

A shiver ran down my spine and my muscles clenched around him, eliciting a rumble deep in his chest. He thrust hard, using long strokes, causing me to scream out in response.

He picked up the pace. “That’s it, baby. That’s what I like to hear.” He was pushing me to the edge again. “Scream for me. I want everyone to hear what I do to you.”

My mind was fuzzy, lost in a sea of lust. I obeyed and let go, no longer holding back. My screams echoed around the room, and that trademark smirk of his formed on his perfect features.

His mouth moved down to my breasts where he began licking and nipping. The combination of sensations from his body’s assault was too much. His name spilled from my lips on a scream as my back arched off the bed. My hands grabbed his arms; nails digging in as my walls constricted around him.

“Fuck, you feel so damn good when you come around my cock.”

I was too far gone to respond, my body going lax after my orgasm. He was still going. Both hands were back on my hips as he drove into me. His stamina was unparalleled. How many times in the past had I been forced to come multiple times before he spilled inside me?

“God, I’m close,” he grunted before pulling out.

I whimpered at the loss, but knew what he was doing. What he wanted from me.

I managed to turn my body around, coming face to face with his cock and took him into my eager mouth. I lapped up my juices from him as my tongue swirled around his length. His eyes were on me, watching his cock disappear between my lips. He loved to watch me suck him after being buried in my pussy. I sucked hard, punishing him as he had me. I was rewarded with a hiss and a flex of his hips. My teeth grazed his skin. He moaned deep in his chest, his panting gaining speed, muscles tensing.

His hands wrapped up in my hair just as he began to thrust, fucking my mouth. He was grunting and moaning as he hit the back of my throat. I reached up to massage his balls, adding to the sensations.

“Fuck!” he cried out. His hips flexed forward before jerking. He came hard; spurt after spurt, sliding into my mouth and down my throat.

After licking him clean, I released him from my mouth. I smiled up at him and he leaned down to kiss me. The kiss was passionate, as were all his kisses. It was also harsh; his teeth biting on my lip, scraping it, tasting himself.

He got a rag to clean me up before we laid down and curled into one another. Tomorrow was closing in. Another day of wearing masks and hiding what we wanted, what we were, from the world. Another day of denying each other. Another night of punishment to look forward to.

Why was he punishing me? Because I called to him, and I let him do whatever he wanted to me. Punishing himself for wanting me and doing whatever he desired to me.

Punishing us for our breach.

My eyes began to open, fighting against the glue that seemed to be keeping them shut. The morning light seeped through the windows. My hand twitched, and I felt something between my fingers. I looked down to find Nathan’s familiar hair beneath my palm. His head was lying on his arm, his other hand draped on my stomach. He was asleep.

I’d been dreaming.

I studied him. There were dark circles under his eyes, and his face was gaunt. He seemed thinner, too. I hadn’t noticed how terrible he looked because I refused to really take a good look at him. I didn’t want to.

The dream resurfaced, and in my mind I remembered how good, how healthy, he looked. I also remembered the family we had. I had dreamed of him, dreamed of us, and what we could be.

My walls were cracking. I wanted it. I wanted it so badly. I wanted him.

My fingers combed through his hair, and I wondered if I’d been doing that in my sleep? Had I known he was there and reached out to him?

It wouldn’t surprise me. I never could deny the draw I had to him. The more I thought about letting him in, the more my chest constricted, my breathing more labored.

It would be up to him. If he wanted me as much as he claimed, he would have to show me.

Everything.

Nothing less would allow me to open back up to him. No more hiding. He would have to let it all out before I even considered.

He stirred and my fingers stilled. His eyes opened, and I stared down at him. They closed again, and his head pushed up into my hand as he let out a sigh of contentment.

“Hi,” he croaked. I didn’t respond. I was muted as his blue eyes gazed up at me in reverence. “How are you feeling?” His hand rose from my stomach and moved a strand of hair from my face.

“You really want an answer to that?” Just because he brought me food and movies, did not mean everything was wonderful.

“That bad, huh?”

I shrugged as best I could. “Broken heart, broken body, and broken soul. Not sure I can get more broken than that.”

He cringed against my words. “I’m going to work on fixing all those things.”

“You have a plan for that?”

“It’s formulating. Slowly, but it’s coming.”

I quirked my brow at him. “Are you sure about that?”

“It’s a twelve-step program.”

My lips twitched. “Really? What’s step number one?”

“Admitting I’m in love with you…to you and myself.”

Interview

Hi K.I. Lynn,

Thank you so much for sitting down with Toot's for an interview. If you don't mind, I have some questions for you about your series Breach, your new book, Reciprocity, releasing June 3rd, and your process for our budding authors as well as fans.

So first off, your newest book is part of your series, Breach. Let's talk about the series as a whole....

In your own words, what is the Breach series about?

The Breach series is about two broken people finding love and the courage to fight for a future, even though their pasts still haunt them.

What inspired the series?

I wanted to write a kinky story. True, that’s how it started. In the beginning the characters weren’t as damaged, but as I wrote they evolved into a much deeper story.

Can you tell us a bit about the newest book in the series, Reciprocity?

Reciprocity is the book that has it all. It’s different from the first two as each book is a different phase of their relationship. This book is about their future and the bumpy road to get there.

How did you come up with the title of your newest book in the series and can you tell us its significance?

It’s been so long since I gave it a title. I remember working with a pre-reader/editor and she brought it up. The word not only fit the law theme, but one of the definitions was fitting of the story—mutual dependence.

How does the new book, Reciprocity, fit into the series?

This book is the end, the culmination of everything. It truly is a battle for survival, not only as a couple, but as living people.

How many books are planned for the series?

This is the final book. However, I could be convinced to do a side novella or two of different characters.

What genre would you say Reciprocity is and what sets your book apart for fans of the genre?

Erotic Romance. It’s a much deeper story than Erotica is, but still retains the descriptive sex scenes. Nathan is a severe dirty talker, and not everyone is a fan of it.

What was your favorite scene to write in Reciprocity?

Oh, I can’t give it away! I wrote it over 2 years ago. It was one of the only scenes I had down when I sat down to dig into it. It’s near the end and it’s a heart stopper!

What was the hardest scene to write for Reciprocity?

Oddly enough it was a sex scene! I don’t know why, but it sat incomplete for months!

What is your favorite line or quote from Reciprocity?

I needed to fuck her into oblivion. Destroy her—destroy us both. – Because his need, his anxiety, comes out so much in this moment.

Writing.......

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated and what made you decide to pursue it as a career?

I’ve always had stories going on inside my head. In junior high and high school I would write stories with my friends. My best friend and I still write stories together. It was actually one of my editors/friends who told me about self-publishing and that I needed to do it.

What inspires you to put the pen to paper or fingers to the keyboard?

My real resurgence to writing was actually fanfiction. It gave me an outlet and an audience and courage to spread my wings and see what I could do.

What are some of the elements in/of your writing process?

I start with an idea which is usually sparked by a song or a photo. The idea mulls in the back of my mind as I build the idea and the story. I will get some scenes pop up and have to write them down right away, which often leads to bits and pieces that I have to blend into the story as I go. Often I have a loose outline, more of plot points, to guide the story. Then it’s just write, write, write, write some more. Then edit until you want to die. Then do it all again until I have a polished piece.

Are you a Plotter or a Panster?

After looking up what a Panster was I’d have to say I’m 70% Panster, 30% Plotter. I let the story lead itself, but I do have plot points to help guide it to its ending.

Have you released anything under a different pen name, and if so, is there any difference between them?

I haven’t yet, but I do have one in mind if a series that’s on the backburner goes more YA.

What's next for you?

I have a novella titled The Devil in Me that will be out on May 5th in the Bend Anthology with seven other wonderful authors. I also have a romantic comedy novella slated for the fall, then an office love/hate romance early 2015.

Is there anything you’d like to add or say to your fans?

Love all my fans!!

Personal questions......

Now I know this is like asking you to choose between your own children, but out of all your amazing characters, who is your favorite and why?

I might have to say Nathan Thorne. He is hot, intelligent, tortured, sweet… I could go on.

Are there any of your stories or characters that hold a special place in your heart?

The Breach series is and will always be my baby. I love the characters, their journey, their love.

If the book or series had to have a theme song, what would it be?

Just one?? Close by Nine Inch Nails. I hate to admit it, because I do not like the artist, but the lyrics are great… Stuck in a Moment by Justin Beiber. Another number one is Heavy in Your Arms by Florence and the machine. Broken by Lifehouse. Mirrors by Justin Timberlake. For a trailer I can see it unfolding over Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell.

Lastly, What 5 things do fans not know about you and 5 they don't know about the series?

5 about me…

  1. I’m an Indianapolis native and though I now reside in Ohio, most of my books are based in Indy.
  2. I’m a Leo.
  3. I hate daylight saving time with a burning passion of a thousand suns.
  4. My favorite color is a toss-up between teal and maroon.
  5. I have an obsession with historic buildings and decaying buildings. They’re just so interesting!
5 about the series…

  1. Some may not know that Breach started out as a Twilight Fanfiction. I don’t like to be overly vocal about it, because I don’t want people to judge it based on that. It’s so much more than that, and Breach was never Edward and Bella for me and definitely not the actors who portrayed them.
  2. If ever made into a move I’ve always seen Mia Wasikowska portraying Lila.
  3. I have an alternative version I started writing where Nathan didn’t have his tortured past.
  4. Lila originally only had self esteem issues. The depth and root of them wasn’t discovered until about 1/3 of the way through Breach—she didn’t like to talk about them even to me. I even had surprises she kept from me pop up in book 3.
  5. Nathan is sometimes put in a cage in my mind when he gets out of control.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for taking time to answer some questions. Congratulations on the new book and I can't wait for everyone to read it!
About the Author

K.I. Lynn spent her life in the arts, everything from music to painting and ceramics, then to writing. Characters have always run around in her head, acting out their stories, but it wasn’t until later in life she would put them to pen. It would turn out to be the one thing she was really passionate about.

Since she began posting stories online, she’s garnered acclaim for her diverse stories and hard hitting writing style. Two stories and characters are never the same, her brain moving through different ideas faster than she can write them down as it also plots its quest for world domination…or cheese. Whichever is easier to obtain… Usually it’s cheese.
