Book Blurb

TWO SOULS

Myia, a shaman-in-training, wants desperately to protect her peaceful village from the barbaric Highland invaders. To hone her powers of prophetic visions and healing, the village elders send Myia on a quest: to heal the Highland warlord’s heart and stop a brewing war. Myia’s mended many souls before, so this should be an effortless duty . . . until she meets the gorgeous, stubborn Highland warlord.

ONE DESIRE

Kedric, a gladiator who escaped enslavement, only wants to liberate the villagers from their common foe—a race that breeds humans for blood sport and genetic experiments. Fueled by his rage, Kedric is determined to take down the brutal enemy. So when a raven-haired beauty with a body made for sin tries to sabotage his mission, Kedric wants her gone. Yet no woman’s touch has ever left Kedric more annoyed . . . and aroused. Kedric knows he should shun her soothing embrace-but he can’t seem to stay away. As their passion grows, Kedric must decide between fighting his war or surrendering his rage—and his heart—for Myia’s love.
Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Kedric is now the king of Pele and he is determined to destroy the Hyboreans. He needs men for his army, which is why he is invading the lowland villages and taking the men.

After her village is invaded and her father is wounded, Myia is sent to Kedric to heal him. She is a shaman-aprendi and has the ability to heal another’s soul. She is hoping to set her people free and heal Kedric enough for him forget about the war he is intent on waging.

Kedric is drawn to Myia and is determined to get her to agree with his point of view. Yet she is determined to change his mind. Let the battle begin.

After making things worse, Myia believes herself a failure. No matter what she does, she can’t seem to change Kedric’s course of action. In fact she moves up his timeline. Kedric guards his soul and won’t even admit to himself what really drives him to attack the Hyboreans. He knows what they do to humans and is obsessed with freeing his father and sister.

Myia has to be strong and accepting of him and herself. She will never heal him enough to alter the course put into action if she doesn’t realize her true capabilities and the feelings in her heart.

This is the second book in the series for this author. It picks up where the first book, Captive, left off. Kedric was saved by a fellow gladiator named Max. He was able to escape from the Hyboreans and become leader at a human sanctuary.

The author created a world where humans are pets and considered animals. Kedric is an escaped human deciding to fight back. The main characters from Captive are back and join in the Fearless storyline. I really like when authors do that.

These characters added fuel to the dilemma between Myia and Kedric. Their battle of wills invited the reader into the story choosing sides. I enjoyed watching Myia plan how she was supposed to heal Kedric. The author made her a likable character with normal human flaws that balanced out her gift of spiritual healing.

In the end they are forced to work together to succeed in their missions of peace and rescue.

The storyline was intriguing and a great addition to the continued series from this wonderful author. I give it a 4 out of 5.
