Book Blurb
Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old--when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.
Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power--plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a sexy bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish--to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.
Toot's Review
From the get go, this book draws you in and doesn't let go!
Our hero Atticus O’Sullivan is an ancient Druid living in the modern day. He's hiding in plain sight, just living his life and going about his business in peace. Just because he's over twenty centuries old, has all sorts of supernatural creatures drop in on him at a whim and his arch nemesis wants him dead, doesn't mean he can't throw a modern colloquialism. He looks like he's twenty one and knows that fitting in is the best disguise of all. He also has the best freakin' dog ever!!!! But when his dog is forced (against his will) to kill a human, Atticus O’Sullivan goes on the proverbial war path to protect him. Throw in the mix, witches with vendettas, nosy cops, an ancient sword and lawyer werewolves.....you have a very fun, flirty and all around good time Urban Fantasy book!
I totally and thoroughly enjoyed this book. I personally was getting a bit tired of the romances and this book was just the cure. Hounded is full of all the wonderful supernaturals elements that fans love along with a great talking dog as a BFF.
Kevin Hearne does a fabulous job of mixing old with the new with enough modern pop culture to make any geek green with envy and feel right at home at the same time.
