H.M. Ward's latest installment of the thrilling NA serial novella - The Arrangement 14 picks right up where 13 left off. Avery has been double-crossed by Sean, is being dragged out in a furniture box and has been drugged. Oh and her arch-nemesis and bodyguard are in cahoots with her fiancé, if he is still her fiancé. After the game changing ending of 13, who knows........*cue the dastardly music*
Anywho, as I was saying, 14 picks right up where we left off. Avery is a fighter, even drugged and stuck in her worst nightmare (she's claustrophobic) won't keep our hooker from kicking everyone's ass or attempting to! Unfortunately Sean and Black are adept at keeping secrets and all may not be as it seems. Someone is out to kill her and protecting everyone's assets is key but with her BFF is on the run, her fiancé double-crossing her, she has hit a new low and feels like she has no one to turn to......or does she??? When all else seems lost, she turns to the one man who has always had her back and has always been in love with her, Marty. Marty on the other hand, isn't so quick to forgive and forget but he is happy to see her and is quick to dole out some much needed advise. All the while, Sean has some explaining to do. Avery needs answers and there's only one man who can give them to her. She also needs to deal with her meddling roommate and help keep everyone safe, uggggg what has happened to her life???
After the cliffhanger of 13, you can imagine how anxious I was to get my hands on 14 and the lovely H.M. Ward did not disappoint. 13 left her fans in a tizzy, so the wonderful Ms. Ward quickly released 14, like, 2 weeks later, cuz she's just totally awesome like that! As I was saying, 13 left my brain fried and I was going crazy to find out what happens next. 14 clears up a lot of unanswered questions, all the while moving the story forward. We got some great cameos from the other Ferro's and Marty is back although I have a weird niggling feeling about him. I won't say more but I'm just saying. We also see Avery finally growing some cajones. She's starting to mature and finally deal with her situation, which I loved seeing. I was starting to think she was a bit of a doormat but after this installment, I loved seeing her stand up for herself. As always, this one also ends on a cliffhanger. I wanted to cheer, even though I knew it was wrong but still.....and I was like OMG!!!! Run, Avery, run!!!!
Can't wait for the next one!
