Toot's Review
So now for a little synopsis for you after all that gushing. Like I said, Charlie Davidson is back for her latest installment of crime solving, ass kicking (mainly her's getting kicked), ghost therapy, coffee drinking, man candy and all around hijinks. In Fifth Grave Past the Light, Charlie's apartment is being overrun with women, 27 to be exact and they won't tell her what's going on, damn them! On top of that, she's on a "cheating spouse" case where the mark is hitting on Cookie and not her, pffftt! Also her dad's bar has a new cook who's killer and the ladies love him.......And to top it all off, Reyes is putting the moves on her but she's not going to cave until he pays her the one million dollars he owes. Oh and Reyes's sister is in trouble as well......ugggg! Charlie has her hands full.
If you can't tell, I absolutely love this series and this book was a wonderful addition. It not only continues the wonderful character that is Charlie but also moves the overall story forward. We learn more about Reyes, Swopes and Charlie's otherworldly backgrounds as well as what really happened to Swopes. Like always, there's some wonderful whodunnit's and the ever smoldering romance between Reyes and Charlie is to die for! And, OMG, There were times I laughed out loud and couldn't stop from giggling. I absolutely loved this book!! Darynda does a fabulous job of mixing humor, drama and pure sexiness with wonderful characters and stories. Dude, I totally need to back off on the coffee or exise Charlie and her ADD from me. I think I channeled her a bit to much to write this review *grin*
A definate must read!!
