Kelley Armstrong Book Signing at Mysterious Galaxy San Diego, CA

Hello All
The wonderful Kelley Armstrong was in town tonight 11/16/12, doing a signing at Mysterious Galaxy Book Store in San Diego, CA. I went at the suggestion of author and friend Lisa Kessler and I'm so glad I did. There were quiet a few people attending as well as Lisa. Kelley talked about some of her new books and I'll give you some bullet points from what I can remember, sorry didn't think about taking notes or anything, I was just there as a fan and being street team support for Lisa.
  • First she talked about the last YA book due out in April 2013 call The Rising. She gave an ARC out to one very pregnant fan, who had to guard it with her life, LOL. All she really said about it was that we will definitely see Chloe and Derek again and some of the characters from the first trilogy in the series will also make an appearance. She said the stories are very parallel (first 3 and last 3), so it was inevitable.
  • Next she talked about Loki's Wolves. It's a new "Juvenile" series, which is for pre-teens (main characters are usually 12 and under) and it's co-written with Melissa Marr. She had an ARC also but said she couldn't give it away. She did say Loki's Wolves main characters are descendants of the original Norse gods and one of the baddies from the original Thor/Loki legend is rising. She said she wrote this book for her son because her original YA series was written for her daughter and her son didn't want to read a book with a girl on the cover holding a necklace.
  • Lastly she talked about Omens. She mainly said it deals with more of the occult and Kelt's. It's based more in the natural world verses the paranormal world. She also said she did a lot of research on experiments done in the 1960's that mainly focused on brainwashing called the MK-Ultra project.
  • When asked about the Otherworld series, she said she was happy ending it when she did. That she still has stories to tell and it's nice because she's not burned out on the characters, so she'll probably write more short stories.
That's all the dish I know for now, hope that sheds some light on something for someone?
