Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Skyla moves with her mother and step-father to Paragon Island.  The island is small and completely different from LA.  She meets her neighbor Brielle first and then the two cutest boys, Logan and Gage.  The fight for her attention is interesting.  Logan is her choice, but Logan has an agenda that temporarily places him with another girl.

Tad, Skyla’s step-father, is the worst character.  I can’t stand him, and her mother goes along with Tad most of the time which ticks me off.  So, I can see why Skyla does what she does. Of course, she also learns a big secret about herself.  Then she confirms what she thought about her father and is shocked to learn about her mother.  That is the part that confuses me.  Her mother doesn’t say anything at all.  The reader would never guess her secret.  Skyla is completely blind to the new world she suddenly falls into.  It is crazy.  Logan and Gage attempt to help her but will be forever a target unless the count is stopped.  Not much is said about how the count figures in.  Logan tries to explain it, but the author only gives you bits and pieces as the story evolves.  Skyla spends a lot of time questioning her sanity and what she is doing is right.  I felt bad for her.  She had to basically muddle her way through.  It was an interesting read and the ending was a bit surprising.  I give it a 4 out of 5.
