Book Blurb
Dez wasn't just Jasmine's crush. A gargoyle Warden like Jas, he helped her come to terms with her destiny—fending off demons and maintaining the balance between good and evil. He was her everything…right until the moment he disappeared without a trace. It didn't help that Jas's father had just announced that she and Dez would one day be mated. Hard not to take that personally.
And now he's back, three years older, ten times hotter, ready to pick up exactly where they left off. But Jas isn't taking that risk again. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again…

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala
Jasmine
flies at night to escape for a while.
She isn’t supposed to leave unescorted, but she must, to stay sane. One night her dad catches her flying back and
he is not happy but informs her that Dez is back. She is shocked. He left without saying good-bye three years
ago. She hasn’t heard from him in all
that time. She is angry and hurt. Her father had expressed his hope that she
and Dez would be mates. He left the next
day. He obviously didn’t want to be with
her then. Now he wants to claim
her. She can’t believe his nerve. He has seven days to win her over. She decides to use the time to her
advantage. She gives conditions that he
has to accompany her on. She doesn’t
guarantee that she will say yes at the end of that time. Dez is willing to do anything to show her he
is serious about her.
I love this
author and this novella is the beginning of a series. It gives you a sneak peak into the
gargoyle/guardian world. Demons are everywhere,
and guardians protect humans from them.
Females are protected, and you can feel Jasmine and Danika’s
frustrations. Then enter Dez and
Jasmine’s anger and hurt completely take over.
Her relationship with Dez is complicated. It is interesting to watch her try and hold
on to her hurt. Dez is there for her
every step of the way. I liked his
determination and his feelings. It is a
good pairing but Dez needed to be honest from the start. You learn eventually why he leaves and it’s understandable,
but Jasmine is right to feel the way she does.
Her reaction is real. The ending
is interesting. It is a great read
leaving you wanting more for the next installment. I do wish this book was a bit longer. I give it a 4 out of 5.
