Book Blurb
When her father moves the family to Scotland so they can all start over, Riley believes her life couldn't get worse––that is until the ghost of nineteen-year-old Ian MacKinnon catches her purposely cutting herself. An uneasy truce quickly turns into friendship, and soon Riley's falling hard for Ian.
Riley believes her gift could help Ian end the curse that has kept him tied to the land for centuries, but that would mean letting him go forever and she's not sure she is strong enough to do that. As if her life wasn't complicated enough, the malevolent spirit of the woman who killed Ian returns and she'll stop at nothing to keep Riley from helping Ian find eternal peace.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala
In this
MacKinnon Curse novel, Riley moves to Scotland with her dad and brother
Shane. Her mother died in a car accident
that Riley, herself just recently physically healed from. However she blames herself for her mother’s
death. She secretly cuts herself to ease
her pain. Moving to Scotland was her
dad’s way of starting fresh and changing scenery. He has been worried about Riley. She has been pulling away and claiming she
sees ghosts. Riley know hides that
ability from the others, afraid her father will send her to more doctors.
Her first
day in her new home and she sees Ian. He
is a ghost and cursed. The storyline
unfolds as Riley wants to help Ian. They
grow closer and Riley gains confidence.
However the one that cursed Ian, Laris, is still ther and won’t let
Riley succeed. The author has created a
crazy character with no real morals.
As Riley
tries to settle in, she meets those that can help her and thise that may harm
her. Laris becomes more dangerous as she
threatens Shane. Riley is toyed with
psychologically by Laris. The reader
isn’t sure to what extent Ian and Laris had a relationship until later in the
book. She also loses her heart to a
ghost, I an brings her back from her own
dark place. It is great to see Riley
fight her way back but sad knowing that Ian can’t stay. There are some pretty sad parts in the book
that make you tear up. It was a great
story. Riley was a complex character
that fought her compulsions. It was easy
and the author made sure the reader knew that.
I give it a 4 out of 5.
