Book Blurb
In a beautiful compound hidden away from the world, Emeline Sanchez tries to blunt the pain that has wracked her body ever since her terrifying ordeal in the labyrinth beneath the city—when she was forced to exchange blood with an evil master vampire.
Now, it’s his voice that haunts her...that calls to her in the dark...that never lets her rest. And while the children that she helped to free from his clutches struggle to heal, watched over by their Carpathian protectors, Emeline knows one thing: She must sacrifice herself to keep them all from harm...

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala
Emeline
Sanchez stays hidden in her home. She
knows Vadim will come for her. He
whispers to her and torments her. She
barely sleeps but fights him. She wants
to protect those around her. Tariq has provided
a safe place for her and the children she sacrificed herself for. She also knows a powerful healer is coming to
help her. She doesn’t know if she can
accept the help. She also fears the
hunter that roams the compound providing protection. He is dangerous and everyone stays away from
the ancient hunter.
Dragomir
Kozel is a warrior that once lived in the monastery in the mountains. He is unsure if he can hold on much longer
nor does he think he can handle the modern women. He has decided to go back to the
monastery. He is helping Tariq
first. He has hunted Vadim and his
brothers before. Hunting is the only
thing he has until he saves Emeline.
Vadim
attackes the compound. He is determined
to take Emeline and kill the children she protects. Em refuses to allow her dreams come true. Dragomir will not die because of her. She fights against Vadim and his puppets. She refuses to let her fear stop her from
saving him.
Dragomir is
shocked to learn who Emeline is to him.
He is angry with himself for not seeking her out before now. She is his lifemate and he bonds her to
him. She refuses to believe him. She knows she is Vadim’s lifemate as he
constantly claims her to be.
When Dragomir
learns why Vadim continues to want Emeline, he is shocked. He is determined to protect her and rid her of
Vadim’s torment. Shocking revelations
are revealed along with surprising prisoners being saved. Nothing will ever be the same for all
involved.
I love this
series. Emeline is a sweet character and
I read what happened to her and what she sacrificed. I wanted to see what happened. Her story was a bit shocking and very
dark. Vadim physically, mentally and
emotionally raped her. Her strength is
tested as she fights his control. The
reader finds out how important she is and how strong she actually is. She is an amazing character. You understand her fear and her low view of
herself. She is constantly fighting the
toxic words of a vampire.
Then add
Dragomir, who is an ancient and feels he doesn’t fit in the modern world. I like how he puts that aside to save his
lifemate. The author changes his
complete outlook as he strives to save Emeline.
He is definitely sigh worthy as he takes care of her. I loved the pairing. It was an excellent addition. I give it a 5 out of 5.
