Marked
(Book 1)

In her first book of the series, Theron is the leader of the Argonauts in which he protects the Argoleans as he has done for two hundred years. As leader of the Argonauts he has agreed to marry the princess, Isadora, to ensure the royal line and keep the Council from interfering with the ruling of the land. Their king is dying and the Council is determined to disband the Argonauts who guard the portal to the human world. The council believes they have too much power.

Isadora is also fading. She is part of a prophesy that Hades has put into play. If she doesn’t find her other part to fulfill the prophesy she will die. She enters the human world to find the one she is looking for. Theron has followed her to bring her back. He has no idea the prophesy even exists.

Casey Simopolous works at XScream, a strip club, at night and runs her late grandmother’s bookstore during the day. She is hoping to find a place for herself. She just doesn’t seem to fit in. However, her life is about to change. The night she encounters Theron at the club, she comes face to face with the creatures called Daemons. Now they are on the hunt for her. She becomes a part of this strange new world in more ways than one. Her life will never be the same as she fights for her life and for what is right.

I love this series so far. The first book starts the story of the eternal guardians, starting with their leader, Theron. He is honor bound and does what he thinks is best for his world always. When he learns the secrets his king has kept, his resolve is shaken.

I also think the soul mate angle is a fun one. These big strong men are tied to these women as a sick punishment by the goddess Hera. Unfortunately things don’t end up as bad as she hopes. The gods don’t always get the outcome they are hoping for.

In this case Hades wasn’t sure what would happen with the prophesy. He was unsure whether one or both would die. He wanted to sit back and watch the story unfold.

It was a race against time and a shift in beliefs for everyone. I can’t wait to see how the series continues. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Entwined
(Book 2)

In book two of the eternal guardian series, Zander is the oldest Argonaut and he is immortal. He has nothing to live for anymore and wishes for his death every day. Not even his soul mate can change how he feels. He knows who she is and they have hardly been in the same room with each other in years. He refuses to have anything to do with her knowing what she did.

Callia is the royal healer and has been treating the king as he lie on his death bed. She also doesn’t want to see Zander. He left her when she needed him most. She has spent the last ten years trying to forget.

Zander knows there is no hope, so he decides to bind himself to Isadora to save the kingdom. He makes an agreement with the king. However, during a battle with daemons to save some misos survivors, Zander is greatly wounded and Callia is brought in to heal him. After healing him, she starts to believe that maybe things between them are getting better. Then his actions show nothing has changed.

After Callia flees from him, Zander learns what really happened ten years ago and realizes they were manipulated, causing them both to be wrong about each other’s actions. When the ultimate betrayal is discovered, Callia and Zander band together to save the most precious thing to them.

I am liking this series even more. This second book basically picks up where the first one left off. I love that Casey and Theron are front and center in this book also. It’s fun to continue with their story.

The story of Zander and Callia was a sad one. They lost so much with each other because of the actions of other people who didn’t want them together. The pain, hurt and anger that they carried around for ten years was clearly pictured through the author’s words. They were definitely a great match though. There were lots of sparks flying when they were in the same room whether it be through anger or suppressed attraction.

There were a lot of secrets revealed that continues to shape the story line. I can’t wait to see where the author takes us next. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Tempted
(Book 3)

In book three Princess Isadora disappears when she is waiting to be bound to Zander. The Argonauts suspect she ran, especially Demetrius. However her sisters know she wouldn’t. She was kidnapped by witches. First Atalanta plots against her and now the witches.

The Argonauts are sent to rescue her and come up against a powerful warlock. Gryphon, Isadora and Demetrius have to flee through a portal to the human world. Their luck doesn’t change as they end up in Atalanta’s hands. She has a master plan involving Demetrius and Isadora. She traps them on the Island of Pandora where they have to try and stay alive. The island is full of all the original monsters the original Argonauts rounded up and rid the human world of.

Demetrius continues to try to treat Isadora with contempt. He has to fight his attraction and keep his distance. She is better off without him. His goal is to make her hate him.

Isadora is not thrilled to be trapped on an island with the man who hates everything about her. At least that is what she believes until she looks deeper, passed the hateful words.

He holds many secrets and fights a darkness that threatens to overtake him. When his secret comes out, Isadora is shocked. The betrayal is far reaching. However, there are things worth fighting for.

The series keeps getting better and better. I didn’t see some of the secrets revealed, coming. Isadora has a lot of enemies being who and what she is. The battles she has had to fight has given her a backbone, finally. It serves her well in this story.

It was rewarding to watch Isadora change into a strong woman who will be queen. It was also interesting to watch Demetrius fight his feelings. The reader is lead to believe the feelings he has had in the first two books, that sneaky author. Then surprise! It is revealed there is a huge reason for his behavior. The book was quite the ride. It’s my favorite one so far. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Enraptured
(Book 4)

In book four of the series, Orpheus is on a mission. He needs to find the warlock and the orb. He needs them both in order to save Gryphon from the underworld. Of course not many people know the real reason he wants the orb. Most everyone thinks he wants the power it can give him.

As a result Zeus sends the sirens after him and Hades sends his hellhounds. After he enlists the help of Maelea, Zeus and Persephine’s daughter, Orpheus drags her to the colony after Hades realizes where she is and tries to stop him from getting what he needs. Orpheus has also gained help from an unexpected source, a siren named Skyla.

Skyla has been ordered to stop Orpheus from getting the orb. Unfortunately it seems she and Orpheus have a past. He doesn’t remember her and she doesn’t trust him. He has exasperated her as much as he turns her on. She refuses to let him out of her sight. Of course her opinions change the longer she is with him trying to find the orb.

When memories come crashing back and the ultimate rescue mission ensues, Orpheus is reeling from his guilt, his conscience, and his newly found heart and soul.

I so love the character of Orpheus. I have since the beginning of the series. He is an outcast and half daemon. He also tries to be the local bad boy. He truly believes he is part evil with no soul. Of course his true self shines through as he strikes out to save his brother.

The author doesn’t disappoint with battle scenes and torture. Lots of secrets are included and create a complicated plot as the Argonauts continue fighting and protecting the humans and misos. This is a great way to continue the story. I can’t wait to read the next book. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Enslaved
(Book 5)

Gryphon has been rescued from the underworld but he still feels the darkness closing in and hears Atalanta’s voice calling him in his head. He fears he will go insane. The other Argonauts fear for everyone’s safety, since Gryphon is unpredictable. They have kept him confined to his room for two months.

After he was allowed to go on a scouting mission that went bad, it is time for him to take back his life. He needs to kill Atalanta. In order to do that he needs to escape the misos colony. He has watched the female from his window every night and knows she may be his ticket out.

Maelea needs to leave. She knows Hades is searching for her and she is putting everyone at risk as a result. She has found a way to the tunnels underneath the colony and is sneaking out. She is no longer the timid girl she was. She has changed since Orpheus found her.

However when she makes her move she ends up with an unexpected guest. Gryphon practically kidnaps Maelea and forces her to help him escape. It becomes a battle of wills between the two and a battle for their lives when they are chased and confronted by beings from the underworld. Hades wants the orb and Maelea dead. He won’t stop until he has accomplished both.

This is the fifth book in the series and in it the fight continues between the gods and the Argonauts. The Guardians continue to battle the darkness and Gryphon battles himself as the darkness tries to overcome him.

The guardians are dropping like flies when it comes to their soul mates. I’m a sucker for a happy ending and alpha males finding their female counterparts. This series is definitely high on the list for fulfilling that need.

Gryphon is a character you instantly like knowing what he is struggling with. The reader understands his motivations. Even though revenge is utmost in his mind and he continues to threaten Maelea, he never actually thinks of hurting her. Even when he believes she is betraying him, he doesn’t do anything to her which proves his honor is present, no matter how he fears it is not. So far this series is awesome and I am having fun reading it. This book gets a 4 out of 5.

Bound
(Book 6)

Titus has been obsessed with the mysterious red head since she arrived at the misos colony looking for Maelea. Theron sent her on her way and warned her away believing she could be a threat. Titus doesn’t know who she really is or why he feels he needs to find her. He is shocked when he spots her in the castle while the council is there for the celebration of Atalanta’s death.

Natasa needs to speak with Maelea. She has information that Natasa desperately needs. She escapes from Titus, the Argonaut that has been filling her thoughts. However she has alerted them to her presence and she must act quickly.

It becomes a race for her freedom and life. Unfortunately Titus grabbed her as she escaped through the portal. She was now stuck with him as he tries to figure out who she is and what her plans are. She is forced to bring him along.

They learn along the way who they are to each other and how important Natasa is to the war as all three ruling gods are after her. Only Titus has the knowledge to stop the unquenchable fire and free Prometheus.

There are lots of secrets and sacrifices in this book. I was glad to see Titus find someone he could physically touch. I always felt sorry for his character and how lonely he seemed. I loved this book in the sense that he knew who she was to him first and was determined to keep her. He was the confident one that had to convince her.

Then the side stories added some intrigue. We meet Hades’ son Zagereus and his scheming ways. Then, of course, when Nick kissed Isadora it created more doubt for Demetrius. So turmoil was flowing throughout the story from every direction. The reader wasn’t sure which ball would fall first.

The sacrifices from multiple characters changed some turn of events and created other problems to solve. With that in mind, the next book in the series should be very interesting. I’m not sure where the author will take it. It should be a fun ride, I’m sure. I give this book a 4 out of 5.

Twisted
(Book 7)

Nick sacrificed himself for Isadora and now is being held by Zagreus. Hades and Zagreus want Nick broken to unleash the god’s powers he possesses inside of him. The darkness he constantly fights is not from his mother Atalanta but from his father Cronos. Hades is determined to harness that power to gain control of the human world. Zagreus wants Nick’s power to gain control of Argolea.

So Nick is being tortured under the watchful eye of Cynna. She oversees each punishment ordered by Zagreus. She made a deal with the prince of darkness and has no choice. She fears that she is close to becoming an empty shell. She decides to give Nick a bit of comfort in this hell. It is the right thing to do. She has to do it before she is so far gone she no longer can.

Zagreus sees how Nick reacts to Cynna. He hatches a plan that will use Cynna to break Nick. He lets them escape and waits for the right time to collect them both. Nick and Cynna escape though not easily. Once out of Zagreus’ lair Nick refuses to leave Cynna. He decides to keep her with him for leverage. Something tells him he will need her.

Nick fights the darkness constantly but notices it isn’t as bad when Cynna is near. In fact she has pulled him back from the brink on more than one occasion. He is surprised to find she has that ability. As a result she becomes his saving grace instead of his prisoner.

When he is forced to return to Argolea for Isadora’s sake, Cynna is forced to go with him. She has to come face to face with the one who led her to Zagreus in the first place. She is torn between her panic and her guilt and her feelings for Nick.

Life will never be the same when the truth comes out about who Cynna really is and what her ties really are. Isadora’s health also causes major concern and the cure is asking the impossible.

In this next installment of the Eternal Guardians, Nick has sacrificed and been tortured. He has gotten the raw end of the deal pretty much every time. I love his character and was happy to read how he found his match. He also realizes he had to go through everything in order to reach this time in his life. His journey is quite a trip and the reader follows along with him through every twist and turn.

His character is dark in his sexual appetites and thoughts. Cynna is his match in every way. They accept each other and their darkness. They are the perfect match outside the realm of the soul-mate curse that the Argonauts either endure or embrace. This book continues the battle between the gods, the humans, and the Argoleans. Hades was defeated once again but the battle still rages. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I give this book a 4 out of 5.
