Book Blurb

The war is on...

Counted among the fiercest Andarion warriors ever born, Hauk is one of the five founding members of the Sentella- an organization that has declared war on the League that rules the Ichidian universe with an iron fist and terrifies it with an army of well-trained assassins. Hauk's enemies are legion, but he fears nothing and no one. He will do whatever it takes to survive and protect his Sentella brethren.

Sumi Antaxas is one of the best assassins the League has ever trained. In her world, failure is not an option and she has never met a target she couldn't execute. So when she's assigned Hauk, she believes it'll be a quick and easy mission.

But nothing is ever as simple as it seems, and Hauk is far better trained and skilled than his dossier shows. More than that, as she pursues him, she stumbles upon the key that will bring down not only Hauk, but the entire Sentella organization.

In the race to report her information, she is overtaken by enemies out to end her as effectively as she intends to end Hauk. Now her only key to survival is the one man she's been sent to kill. And Hauk doesn't trust her at all.

The only question is, will he help her to live... or send her to her grave.

Toot's Review

Born Of Fury is Sherrilyn Kenyon’s newest installment in her wonderful Sci-Fi series, The League. For fans of the series, this is Hauk’s story……finally!!! Hauk is a founding member of the rebel organization called the Sentella. The Sentella are a bunch of outlaws and misfits fighting against the evil police/assassin squad called The League. What makes the Sentella great besides the fact that they are all badasses and their vow to bring down the bad guys ruling the galaxy is the fact that they are first and foremost a family. They will rain hell around your ears if you mess with any one of them and they will drop everything, and I mean everything to do it.

Hauk is an island. His friends and family abound but he is still alone and no one can touch him. He is surrounded by love of a familial kind but no one romantically loves him. He is battle scarred and if it wasn’t for his love of his friends and family, he’d probably find a cave and just give up. Hauk is an outcast to his own kind and the fact that he is the only heir to his bloodline, is the only thing keeping him in their semi-good graces. His blood family blames him for his eldest brothers’ death and his other brother has been banished. If that wasn’t bad enough, to keep his family honor, he must also be publically humiliated each year and because of what his society deems beautiful, Hauk cannot and will not be touched by any women of his species. He is utterly alone yet surrounded by friends and family.

Now Hauk finds himself, yet again being called upon to do his duty. His spoiled brat of a nephew must go on a camping trip (of sorts) to obtain a rare feather to prove he’s a man and Hauk is the only one whom can take him. He is also roped in by his Sentella brethren to take one of their daughters along as well. So poor Hauk, being the gracious family man he is, takes two teens on a camping trip. While tempers flare, the two teens stumble upon an injured woman whom appears to have been attacked by a wild animal. As Hauk goes to help unconscious woman, he notices some markings on her that denote the she is in fact a League Assassin and Hauk is pretty sure, she’s there to kill him.

Can these two assassins work together to survive or will all hell break loose?

So I’m totally just going to stop there with the cliché music going “dun, dun, dun” because I’m evil like that and don’t want to spoil this awesomely, fun, heart-warmingly sad book.

Born Of Fury for me was probably the most family oriented out of all the League books. Of course, each book has been heart breaking with the back stories of all of the Sentella members but now that most of the first generation are married and having babies, we really get to see the heart of the Sentella family and see them ride to the rescue when one of their own is in need. Not only that, but the banter between everyone is so worth the read. It’s wonderful seeing everyone fighting, hugging and just plain being a family together. If you love Sci-fi, PNR or just romance, give her League series a try. I cannot speak any more highly of it.

5 out of 5 books!!
