Ok kids; now gather around, it’s time for another quickie review. We weren't schedule to review this book but I love me some Dark Romance/Erotica and couldn't resist me some Pepper Winters. So I went and bought the books and gobbled them up in one day. This story is totally addicting. You’re totally like “What the F did I just read!!” Pepper has the knack of telling some very twisted stories with really rich and tangible characters that you can never quite figure out until the end. Nothing is what it seems in her stories and that, I totally love!!
So what do we have in this one that Toot’s loves. Well we have an ancient debt that says that the first born woman of the Weaver family is to pay a debt to the first born son of the Hawk family. There is even a document that is above the law giving permission to do so that goes back 600+ years for some heinous crime that a Weaver had done (trust me, I could go on and on about this) but anywho, you get the gist, hero owns heroine- lock, stock and barrel. Heroine is a mousy fashion designer who is normally protected by her fam and is all of a sudden given to this stranger by her father, WTF, right! So now we have a hostage/kidnapping situation until all is revealed but what’s better than a heroine starting out as a door mat and turning into a brick wall??? A hero that is forced into the situation by duty, made completely of ice, knowing that a woman’s fate is in his hands and ultimately her doom. He has been given her like a pet and has to extract his family’s retribution on her but she is not so willing. Doesn't she know this is her fate? Doesn't she know she’s supposed to cower? Nope, the victim has become his adversary and is planning and plotting to win this war. With every tool in her arsenal!
There are 6 book planned for the series but they are short reads, each about 100 – 150 pages is my guess. Anywho, I would definitely recommend picking this series up if you haven’t already done so. If you love Alpha Males made of ice and heroines that grow in internal strength who don’t just roll over but fight, fight, fight!
