Review : Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss #1) by Nalini Singh (CR)

Book Blurb

A bad boy wrapped in a sexy, muscled, grown-up package might be worth a little risk…

Molly Webster has always followed the rules. After an ugly scandal tore apart her childhood and made her the focus of the media’s harsh spotlight, she vowed to live an ordinary life. No fame. No impropriety. No pain. Then she meets Zachary Fox, a tattooed bad boy rocker with a voice like whiskey and sin, and a touch that could become an addiction.

A one-night stand with the hottest rock star on the planet, that’s all it was meant to be…

Fox promises scorching heat and dangerous pleasure, coaxing Molly to extend their one-night stand into a one-month fling. After that, he’ll be gone forever, his life never again intersecting with her own. Sex and sin and sensual indulgence, all with an expiration date. No ties, no regrets. Too late, Molly realizes it isn’t only her body that’s become addicted to Fox, but her heart…

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Molly Webster is a librarian with a sister who is a publicist. It’s the reason she finds herself at a major party with her best friend Charlotte. They are there to support Thea and her clients, one of them being the band Schoolboy Choir. In fact lead singer, Zachary Fox, launches Molly’s fantasies, but she wants nothing with the public scrutiny that his stardom brings. After the scandal she lived through with her parents, she wants to stay completely out of the limelight. She can drool over Fox but reality makes it just a fantasy.

Zachary Fox has noticed Molly even though he doesn’t let on. He has watched her real reactions to her sister and situations at the party. Her smile draws him in and he wants her, not just for a night. He is attracted to her honesty and realness she conveys. He is determined to make her his. He just has to patiently convince her.

When he ambushes her in the elevator and offers a night, Molly throws caution to the wind. Just once she wants to let her past and fears go and live for the night. Of course it becomes complicated fast when Fox reveals he will be there for a month. Molly has no idea what to do with a rock and roll god.

I liked this book. It is a new series that centers around the band Schoolboy Choir. This was front man Zachary Fox’s story. He wanted Molly the minute he saw her. He always goes after what he wants. I loved his determination and sexiness. He never waivers from his goal.

Molly was fearful which was understandable with what her past held. Both Molly and Fox were scarred by their childhoods. What they experienced created their insecurities which in turn affected their relationships. These two were well matched. They were both broken but understood the other’s devastation and had great chemistry. The author wrote some very hot scenes that were very believable.

I really liked these two together and how the author created a strong team. I can’t wait for the other band members to reveal their stories. I give it a 5 out of 5.
