Review : Broken Prince (Cinderella #2) by Aubrey Rose

Book Blurb

The thrilling new follow up to the new adult bestseller Me, Cinderella? by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aubrey Rose!

Happily ever after is just what they say in books. Real life is MUCH more complicated.

Brynn can't believe her good luck. Her Cinderella story continues as she finds herself studying math in a castle on the edge of a Hungarian forest. However, no fairy tale lasts forever, and a letter about her mother's death opens up a whole new world of nightmares...

Eliot, finally back in Hungary, is haunted by the lie he told ten years ago to protect his family. Now he finds that he can no longer hide his dark past from Brynn, and time is running out to finish his life's work in mathematics.

The problem that neither one of them can solve is this:

Once broken, can two shattered lives ever be made whole again?

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Brynn and Eliot are back in the sequel to Me Cinderella. Brynn and Eliot are living in Hungary where the first book left them. Eliot is finding it difficult to move on from his wife’s death in which he is blaming himself. As a result his relationship with Brynn is less than happy.

Brynn is also trying to move passed her own demons. She is trying to find out what really happened to her mother and when she was attacked. When the truth is revealed, Brynn’s happiness is in the balance. Eliot has to move passed his guilt, so when Brynn needs him, he will be there.

I was disappointed with this book. I read the first one and really liked Brynn’s character. In this book, Brynn’s character seemed to change. She no longer appeared warm and possessing of an inviting personality. It took away from the feelings left over from the first book when we met her.

Eliot seemed more withdrawn. The conversations he had in his head got to the point of annoying. I didn’t like how parts of this relationship evolved. There were also some parts of the storyline that seemed to end before they really got started leaving me asking what happened. It appeared to me that the author tried to add them in to produce a more complex plot but really didn’t follow through with them. It was a bit of a letdown to be honest. I give it a 3 out of 5.
