Breaking All The Rules by Cynthia Sax is a sexy new erotic novella, where the two main characters are complete opposites in every way but somehow fit together. Breaking All The Rules tells the love story of two characters whom we first met in Cynthia’s Seen Trilogy, Nathan and Camille.
Nathan Lawford is the epitome of an executive CFO. He’s buttoned up, shut off and completely cold. His demeanor has even earned him the nickname around the office, Iceman. Being a CFO, Nathan knows money and is used to paying for everything (hint, hint). He’s been told from birth that money makes the world go around, whether it is for love, sex, business, friendship or fun. No matter what, it will cost you money and poor Nathan has taken this to heart but the Iceman does have one weakness, a green haired hippy that he sees everyday in the company elevator and he wants her bad!
Camille Trent is a total modern day Hippy, Goth and Hacker. She hates all things that confine, constrict and/or has rules. If it falls into one of those categories, she’ll break it or set it free. She is a wild child at heart with piercings and green hair. She exists for peace, love and freedom. She doesn’t need money, hell she’s a hacker, she’ll just steal it but she does need mentoring for a charity she’s working on and Blain Industries is where she can get it. As their newest intern, it’s the hardest job she’s ever held and goes against her very nature. Everyone is constricted, confined and conformed. The only bright light in this sea of drones is the CFO, Nathan AKA Iceman and boy does she want to melt him.
So what happens when Ice meets the warmth of Mother Earth? The Ice melts and nourishes the Earth. That’s the basic analogy of the story. Besides being complete opposites, the two help heal each other without changing their basic personalities. They embrace the uniqueness of each other.
I toughly enjoyed this quick erotic novella. It’s basically a contemporary romance with some scorching hot sex scenes in an office location. The characters are colorful and very quirky. I’ve read all of Cynthia’s Seen Trilogy and was thrilled to finally read the story of these two characters. You can read the story as a standalone but I would strongly recommend reading the other novellas first, to see how their romance began and to also learn more about the office interplay and dynamics.
All in all, 4 out of 5!
