Spotlight, Promo & Author Interview : Undying Desire (The Enclave #3) by Jessica Lee

Book Blurb & Info

Guerino Lombardi's world just went to shit. Vampire and second in command of the Warriors of the Enclave, he's put everything on the line to save his best friend from what has to be the worst blow a man can take. Kenric, his friend and master of the Enclave, has a daughter, something believed impossible in the vampire world, and word has it she wants her father and his Enclave dead. Guerin is determined to protect Kenric, keeping the secret from him until he knows for sure if this daughter really exists and if she wants revenge.

Eve Devonshire is a woman hiding in plain sight. Not completely human, but not quite a vampire, she's accepted by neither race but is more powerful than either one. Her life has consisted of half-truths and disguises, never belonging or living in one place for any length of time. But now some have heard rumors of her existence and want nothing more than to trap her and dissect her like a lab rat.

To stay alive, Eve can't trust anyone, including the alpha vampire with midnight eyes and a thirst for pain and submission. With her enemies nipping at her heels, Eve has Guerin cornered, and both are determined to get the answers they're looking for or die trying...if they can fight their desires long enough.

Contains hot alpha male vampires, including one with a taste for sexual submission that will lead to some highly charged erotic scenes involving anal, BDSM, various restraints, floggers, and whips.

Interview

Hi Jessica,

Thank you so much for sitting down with Toot's for an interview. If you don't mind, I have some questions for you about your new book, Undying Desire and your process for our budding authors as well as fans.

So first off, Undying Desire Questions.......

In your own words, what is Undying Desire about?

Thanks so much for having me here today! Undying Desire is book three in the Enclave series. This is Guerino Lombardi’s story, second in command of the Enclave. In a way, this is an enemy to lovers story.

Guerin is on a mission to destroy his best friend’s daughter, but he falls for his target. To make matters worse, somehow he must reveal not only that he’d planned to kill her, but he and her long lost father are responsible for her mother’s death.

How did you come up with the title of the book and can you tell us its significance?

Since this is an immortal vampire story, Undying seemed perfect for the series. For this particular title, Desire felt right since there is a strong erotic theme and attraction between the hero and heroine. Plus the hero has been fighting his darker desires for years.

Is Undying Desire a standalone book or will it be part of a series?

It can be read as a standalone, but by reading the first two, the story will be enriched.

What genre would you say Undying Desire is and what sets your book apart for fans of the genre?

Desire is an erotic paranormal romance. The series is about six vampires who have joined The Enclave. They are group of vampires who have come together for one purpose, but have an uneasy relationship between each other. They “tolerate” each other’s presence while hunting other vampires who kill when feeding, becoming addicted to Death Euphoria. DE-addicted vampires, or DEADs, are a menace to the human population and are the eternal pestilence for the Enclave.

These are “turned” vampires, but have the also possess the ability to shift into wolves, and the stronger the vampire the more forms they can assume.

The power is in the blood, the antigens that create the vampire. The more ancient, the more addictive the vampire’s blood becomes. If the male vampire has latent psychic powers when turned, he becomes a Master vampire, and his blood as addictive as an ancient.

Typically male vampires are more powerful than female. But if a female bonds/mates by blending her soul with her male, she will be able to tap into her mate's power, therefore becoming as powerful as her mate as long as he's near.

What was your favorite scene to write for either your hero or heroine in Undying Desire?

Probably the next to the last love scene between Guerin and Eve when the walls he built around his heart, the pain and hurt he’d been hiding for years, comes tumbling down.

What was the hardest scene to write?

 That same scene mentioned above

What's your favorite line or quote from Undying Desire?

She was pure indulgence. Hot, liquid sin. That last piece of delectable chocolate cake you knew you should walk away from, but if you didn't have at least one more taste, life wouldn't be worth living.

Writing.......

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated and what made you decide to pursue it as a career?

That would probably be when I discovered paranormal romance. I feel in love with the genre, and that love made me want to tackle the craft—to see if I could someone come close to creating a world others wanted to lose themselves inside.

What inspires you to put the pen to paper or fingers to the keyboard?

See above. lol

What are some of the elements in/of your writing process?

A comfortable chair, my laptop, ear buds, music, coffee, and hopefully chocolate!

Are you a Plotter or a Panster?

I think I’m a mix of the two.

Have you released anything under a different pen name, and if so, is there any difference between them?

Nope. Everything I’ve written can be found under the name Jessica Lee.

What's next for you?

I’m in the process of getting Undying Hunger, A Novel of the Enclave completed and ready for my editor. Hunger is the long awaited book four that will bring you Markus and Alexandria’s story.

Is there anything you’d like to add or say to your fans?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support for me and my work as I launched into the publishing world a few years ago. It's been such an exciting adventure, and I've had so much fun getting to know many of you through email, social media, and conferences.

Personal questions......

Now I know this is like asking you to choose between your own children, but out of all your amazing characters, who is your favorite and why?

Argh!! That is so hard. lol I love them all, but probably because Desire just released and is fresh on my mind, I would say Guerin. I loved writing his dark side.

Are there any of your stories or characters that hold a special place in your heart?

Oh yes. Kenric St. James from Undying Destiny. He will always be special to me since he was the vampire who started it all with the Enclave series.

If the book had to have a theme song, what would it be?

Chokehold by Adam Lambert. It speaks to me in a way about the turbulent relationship between Guerin and Eve

Lastly, What 5 things do fans not know about you and 5 they don't know about the book?

Yikes! Hmmm That’s a tough one.

1. I was an Army brat

2. I went to high school in Germany

3. I have one sibling: an older sister

4. I’m a big animal lover, and for a couple of years, I volunteered for an animal rescue and rehab coalition

5. For a short time I also volunteered at a local zoo to care for their rescued Raptors.

For the book. I don’t know if there are five things, but I’ll give it a shot.

1. It was originally going to be titled, Eve of Desire

2. A lot of research went into writing some of the more exotic scenes in the book LOL Workshops, Events, etc.

3. Possibly a few deleted scenes involving Guerin from this book and book two may pop up at a later date. More info on that to come.

4. I attended ninth and tenth grade in Nuremburg, Germany where most of the book takes place.

5. The setting for the Enclave’s headquarters is loosely based on Charleston, South Carolina.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for taking time to answer some questions. Congratulations on the new book and I can't wait for everyone to read it!

Thanks again for hosting me on Undying Destiny’s VBT! It was a pleasure being here.
