Review : Sun God Seeks…Surrogate? (Accidentally Yours #3) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff (PNR)

Book Blurb

A Deal from Heaven

Living in New York City, Penelope Trudeau has seen a lot of weird stuff-but nothing like the insane redhead who accosts her with a wild proposition. Penelope will get a million dollars if she has a baby with the strange woman's brother. With her mother dying from a mysterious disease, Penelope can use the money. Yet the terrified waitress is adamant that her womb and eggs are not for sale . . . until she meets her intended mate. He's impressively built, gorgeous, and red-hot, literally. He's a freaking immortal Sun God.

For thousands of years, Kinich (Nick to his friends) didn't believe in fraternizing with humans, so procreating with them is definitely a no-no. But after one sizzling encounter with the beautiful, passionate Penelope, Nick begins to think he was wrong . . . until he realizes meeting Penelope was just another one of his crazy sister's schemes at manipulation. But now that he has Penelope in his life, he can't let her go. Especially because doing so means throwing her into the hands of his dangerous enemies.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

This is an Accidentally Yours novel. Cimil is back and causes trouble as usual. This time she finds a woman named Penelope and offers her money to be a surrogate for her brother Kinich. Penelope has had to put her life on hold in order to care for her mother. Her mother has some type of mysterious disease that no doctor can explain or even treat. So when Cimil corners Penelope and offers her one million dollars, she is tempted for all of thirty seconds. She does, however, agree to meet with Kinich and listen to what he has to say for half the money. She doesn’t have to say yes just keep her mind open. She, of course, is going to say no.

If only she knew how her life was going to change when she met with Kinich at the bar of his hotel. She is thrown into a bizarre world of gods, demigods, vampires, payals, maaskabs, and obscuros. She becomes hunted by the maaskabs and Kinich, the sun god, must keep her safe. Their feelings for each other grow but Kinich knows he can’t be what Penelope needs.

Cimil’s ultimate plan goes wrong and Penelope now finds herself planning battles with the gods and trying to save her mother, while falling for Kinich deeper with each thing that goes wrong.

I have become a major fan of this series. I have now read every book so far and love the characters that the author has created. They make me laugh out loud at their thoughts and reactions. In fact Penelope’s reactions to the crazy gods she was surrounded by and their behaviors had me thoroughly entertained. This author takes directions I don’t expect and leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. I give it a 4 out of 5.
