Spotlight, Teasers & Review : Hot Southern Mess (Hide Your Crazy #1) by T.A. Hardenbrook (NA)

Book Blurb & Info

My mother always said, “You need to act like a lady if you are ever going to be the perfect wife.” Well, that would require me to first become ‘lady like’, and then sell my soul to the devil. Down south, women were groomed to be the perfect trophy wives. One must be the total package, in order to catch a man that had sort of social ranking at the country club. To my parents and sister’s dismay, being sold off to the highest bidder in society wasn’t the life for me.

Hi I’m Molly, and anything but the southern belle type. My hair isn't blonde and I don’t wear dresses. My shoe selection consists of my favorite chucks, and I’m lucky that I shower daily. I bite my nails and play guitar, and well my makeup regimen involves the very basics. I don’t hold any pageant titles and I’m entirely too awkward at social gatherings.

So what does one do when her younger sister finds the man of her dreams and gets married? You suck it up and put on that horrible bridesmaid dress, and explain to everyone that you are perfectly content on living alone for the rest of your life. Then, you get the hell out of there.

I just want to play my music and live my life, free of sparkles and crowns. Being twenty-five and not married wasn't the end of the world, in reality, it is just the beginning. I am not going to worry about finding “the one” till it finds me. One afternoon I walked right into all six-foot-three rock star of it, shit.

Hi, my name is Molly, and I’m a complete Hot Southern Mess.

Toot's Review by Stephanie Silva

Hot Southern Mess by T.A. HardenBrook

I am not what my family and their friends expect. I am not a beauty queen full of curves in the right places, vain from head to toe, lover of color pink, total bitch masked by a pretty face and an army of makeup, etc. I am just myself a total kick ass and no nonsense outcast whose music is her oasis.

My name is Molly Anne and I am so going to rock your life.

After her Barbie doll, bitchy whiner of a sister gets married Molly decides that is about time for her to get some freedom by running away from her family’s grasp and Seattle seems like a perfect places for a chick like her. Landing the job of her dreams as a PA for the manager of one of the hottest band of the moment and, of course, one of her favorites since ever is her dream come true but what she doesn’t expect is the childish, cocky and perverted attitude of the 4 baby-men-band-members she has to babysit for her boss. Brody is a total pig and man slut but she can manage to put him in his place and besides he isn’t so bad when you get used to. Ryder and Tysen and easier to handle and own a better attitude than him but the real problem is Reid. His gorgeous grin is doing strange stuff to her. One moment she thinks there might be something between them because of the sweet and gentle and sometimes hot and passionate moments they share and the next second he is avoidant her like her like the plague.

This novel tells us the story of Molly as she tries to break free from the control of her “Southern Royal Family” while blossoming in her career and messing up but learning when it comes to love.

I have to say there were times when I wanted to slap her and make her realize how stupid she was for not jumping into conclusion and giving a chance to people she shouldn’t when a hot, passionate and stubborn male lead aka Reid was trying everything to change and be the man just for her. She is an awesome girl with amazing talents but she really needs to open her eyes and get over the past. She is given the chance of happiness but she is too sure that happy endings don’t exists, there aren’t godmothers willing to make your wishes come true, there is no prince charming willing to save you and be your one and only. Molly can only count on Molly or so she thinks.

Let’s find out if Reid can change her mind and make her realize that “the one and only” and happy endings to exist and, mostly, that she belongs with and to him.
