Review : Falling Into Us (Falling #2) by Jasinda Wilder (NA)

Book Blurb

THE STORY YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW...

When Kyle Calloway died, he took a part of Nell with him. She wasn’t the only one left to pick up the pieces, however; Kyle’s death left a gaping hole in the hearts and lives of his parents and his older brother Colton, and ultimately broke the will of the girl he loved.

THE STORY YOU NEVER IMAGINED...

Becca de Rosa is Nell’s best friend. When Kyle died, Nell was so devastated that no one could reach her, not even her best friend Becca. As she tries to help Nell through her grief, Becca’s own life is thrust into turmoil, and everything she knows is changed.

Jason Dorsey asked Nell out the week after her sixteenth birthday, but that date never happened. Instead, he ended up going out with Nell’s best friend, Becca. He had no way of knowing, then, how that one date would send him on a life-long journey with Becca. He had no way of knowing the tragedies and triumphs he would experience, or that in Becca, he might find the love of a lifetime.

THE HEARTACHE YOU’LL NEVER FORGET...
Toot's Review

Jasinda Wilder’s Falling into Us is what a good NA should be! Take note NA authors and follow suit because this book is NA at its best. Yep, totally freaking’ loved this book but I digress and I’ll start with a little synopsis like always.

Becca, our heroine is an over achieving teen. She is on her way to becoming a doctor even at age 16. Her life is mapped out. She only has time for school work and more school work, if she is to fulfill her chosen path. That is until the boy she’s crushed on since she was a child, calls her out of the blue for a back-up date.

Jason was super excited to ask his own childhood crush out on a date until she backed out at the last minute. She then told him something that would change his life forever. She told him, her BFF, Becca, had a crush on him and he should call her. So he did and from their first date, he was in love.

These two are so perfectly matched. They come together as a couple in the book when they’re both 16 and we follow their relationship and life through college and into adulthood. Their lives are riddled with tragedy but unlike most book couples, they stick together like glue and ride the wave together. They never break up or lose sight of what is important to them. Rather than lash out at one another, they cling harder and for this fact alone, I LOVED THIS BOOK! I have to admit that I sometimes get tired of the cliché formula books, boy meets girl, boy wins girl, boy looses girl, boy gets her back and finding a book that deviates from the formula always peeks my interest but this book not only deviates from the formula but totally obliterates it. I loved that we get to follow the lives of these two and join in all their firsts. I swear there were parts that threw me back into my own teenage firsts and I loved revisiting my own memories that this book jogged. It’s just written so brilliantly but for every high, there is a low. This book is also riddled with tragedy as well. I found myself crying, laughing and smiling like a loon.

Definitely a must read for NA lovers!
5 out of 5!!
