The dynamic writing duo, that is, Christina Lauren is back with their newest installment to the Beautiful Bastard series, called Beautiful Player. This is Will's story. He is the third of the group of male friends to be snagged by love.In this story, Will is approached by an old family friend whom has a huge favor to ask. Hanna, the youngest sibling, is a total lab geek, book worm and all around nerd. Now that she's on her own, her family is worried that she's becoming a recluse. She needs to find a social life and whom better to teach her than their playboy and overall social butterfly friend, Will.
Will grew up with a family full of woman and he has the utmost respect for them. He has always been a looker and when he came of age, women threw themselves at him. He's never taken advantage of them per se but he did indulge in them, a lot! He hates the term "player" but acknowledges that it does fit him although he is adamant that he never plays them. He is very upfront with the women he beds. He's not looking for love, they are not exclusive and he's clean. So when he's approached about teaching Hanna, he's not sure what he can offer this sweet young girl but he likes a challenge.
Now you would think this is a bit of a "My Fair Lady" type of story and in the beginning it is but quickly it changes. The two become fast friends and as Hanna starts to spread her wings, Will's become clipped.
I absolutely adore the stories Christina Lauren have been putting out recently in this series. I have to admit, I wasn't totally thrilled with the first book but as the series progresses, these ladies have hit their stride and Beautiful Player is no exception. Will is super sexy and the pages sizzle with sexual tension and toe curling heat. Hanna is a wonderfully lively character that could easily fit right into the cast of the Big Bang Theory. I do have to admit though, there were times her naiveté did grate on my nerves along with her numerous insecurities but the characters are wonderfully matched. Other then that, I totally loved the story.
If you want a fun, witty, smoldering ball of sexiness that can be read as a standalone. Give Beautiful Player a try!
