SOMEONE ELSE'S SKYE
Men of Brahm Hill, Book 1
Coming October 1, 2013
Kane, Brethren Guardian and one of the few Natural Shape-Shifters left in existence, survived the bloody battle of Brahm Hill but lost two of his closest friends. For all of his good-natured sarcasm and eye-popping good looks, Kane finds himself unable to completely forget about that night, so he seeks comfort in the one thing he is truly good at . . . sex!
This shape-shifting bad boy believes in having a good time—a very good time, usually involving some mingled heavy breathing with a sexy Dhampir in a tiny closet somewhere. But when he’s sent into the freezing tundra of the Northwest Territories to investigate a troublesome supernatural being on the loose, he ends up crossing paths with a woman who almost instantly drives him insane with want . . . because she doesn’t seem to be falling for the shifter’s charms.
It’s completely inexplicable.
Skye Matthews has a job to do, and she needs to be focused on that, not spending all her time rebuffing the advances of this way-too-cocky and handsome stranger. Yet, there is something irresistible about this self-involved playboy that Skye can’t seem to stay away from. And when the unidentified Kane is sent to investigate takes an unnatural interest in her, protecting her becomes the Guardian’s top priority.

GUEST POST
TOPIC: Why I Love Writing Secondary Characters!
Number one: all of the heroes in the Men of Brahm Hill series were secondary characters in my previous Charmed Trilogy before taking on a starring role here.
I love secondary characters! I love threading them through the background of a story, possibly over several books, allowing their character to resonate more slowly with the reader, ultimately creating interest to have their own story. When I first began writing, I notice some of my favorite authors such as Lisa Kleypas and Julia Quinn had created this same interest with me in their Hathaway and Bridgerton series, two of my very favorite historical series. There is a significant investment for the reader in doing this—one that works!
My reading group, who gives me feedback on the rough drafts of my books, absolutely begged for The Brethren men to have their own series. These women argued with each other over who was better looking, who was sexier, and who was more trouble. It was very entertaining. They boldly declared who was their new book boyfriend and I just knew . . . my next series was born.
Someone Else’s Skye starts off with Kane, an uber-sexy and utterly wicked shape-shifter who thinks he’s got life—and women—all figured out. And the coarse he lands on in which he ultimately discovers that he doesn’t, is an awful lot of fun.
I hope you will check out Someone Else’s Skye and fall in love with these once secondary men who now have a starring role. And pay attention to the secondary characters in this series. Someday they just might have starring role of their own.
