Josie has moved on and made a new life for herself. She is working as an accountant and finally feeling like she belongs. Then she gets the call from the hospital. Her husband is being treated and she is his only next of kin. She rushes down to see if it is indeed him. He left after two months of marriage and has been gone for two years. He is there and looks the same. Her heart stutters and all the work she has done to move on flies out the window.
He is suffering from amnesia and doesn’t remember anything that’s happened or who he is. An investigation is centered around him and two men found dead. Looking at his injuries has the police thinking he is involved. Josie takes Shane home, not knowing what to expect. When they were married, Shane never let her in. She questions who he really is and what he is really capable of. However it seems he has brought his secret life onto her front step, but he has no memory of it.
Josie is confused and angry. She wants to find out who he really is and why he left her. She is determined, but as she is thrown into Shane’s life she becomes a target and strange men are coming after her. Even though Shane doesn’t remember, he knows that he has to protect her. Josie enters an adventure with Shane where the truth and danger lies. She has no idea where it will lead her and if she will come out the other side in one piece. She isn’t even sure if she can trust Shane. She doesn’t really know him at all.
I really liked this book. It kept me guessing the whole time I read it. The secrets to who Shane was and what his life entailed were intriguing. Then when his brothers entered the story it gave a different dynamic that still kept you wondering. I felt sorry for Josie. She got caught up in the whirlwind of what Shane was. She grew up without a family and she gave her heart to Shane. Their relationship and his amnesia gave more layers to the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery, adventure and romance. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Finally got caught up on blog hop stops...although I was too late for the first few of them. In any event, It's been interesting reading all the comments. Rebeccca, I note at one time you were in the legal field for a career...same for me. I was a legal secretary for 30 years before I "switched horses." I think you were very smart to switch your horses, too, and get into writing. Not only are you good at it...but it probably is less stressful than the legal field. (?) jdh2690@gmail.com
