Toot's Book Review

All out of Love is a cute little romance about a young girl, Lace, whom has the ultimate heartbreak and embarrassment of a lifetime when she writes a puppy-love crush letter to Cupid about her uber popular high school quarterback, Pierce. She pours her heart and soul into this letter about her childhood crush, how awesome he is and how she will wait for him to love her. This letter was never meant to see the light of day. It was like a "dear diary" letter but then her vindictive cousin rummages through her room, finds it and then sends it to the high school paper, where it gets published! Poor Lace is teased mercilessly and the object of her desire, immediately goes to away to college and leaves her to fate.

Twelve years later, she's back in town as the new plant doctor for the botanical gardens and wouldn't you know it, so is the handsome high school quarterback. Piece was a Dallas Cowboy super star until an injury put him on the DL. Now he's back home to rehab and help his ailing father. Little did he know that the biggest regret in his life is also back in town as well and smokin' hot!

All Out of Love is the newest addition to Lori Wilde's popular cowboy romance series Cupid Texas. As stated previously, it's about two high school kids who've grown up in the shadow of a ugly incident that involved the two of them but has scarred them all the same but somehow Cupid heard the pleas of a brokenhearted little girl and decided to take action by granting her wish. Little did the girl know, that she was also the object of the same man's desire, so it wasn't hard for our rascally Cupid. All kidding aside, this was a quick fun romance. Piece is the typical football jock with an ego a mile long and Lace is the quick-witted doctor with a broken heart. The two couldn't be more different and yet, somehow they work together. She humbles him and he gets in her face. The major thing that I loved is that Lace is a BBW. She's smart, sassy, sexy and a size 14. She also bags the hot jock! The only thing that bugged me about the story was that there was no epilogue but that's just me, I like the HEA but I'm sure that the future of the couple will be played out in future books in the series. Other than that, I liked it.

  2. I like epic at the end. I like that they summarize and let you know what is ahead. This book was excellent and I loved the feelings that Lace over come and the struggles that she went through to handle the letters. As always the stories have there very funny parts and you feel the comedy with Zoey and the family. As, always, great reading.
