Book Blurb
Jane Beaumont currently has in her possession: a cat, a hundred grand in cash, and a pistol. She's on her way home to Bay City, Oregon-and away from the nightmare of her violent ex-boyfriend. She'll lay low at Beaumont Body Shop, a car detailer that runs a private investigation agency in the back. The only wrench in her plan is Kage Archer: sexy, strong, and intent on protecting Jane at all costs. She's wanted Kage forever, but putting him in harm's way is not a risk she's willing to take.
He's not going anywhere
Kage is no stranger to the dark side of life, but he's always walked on the right side of the law. Yet when Jane expressed her interest in him years ago, he pushed her away for her own good. Now, after learning of all she's endured, Kage can't leave her side-or hide his need for her. When a frightening situation turns dire, can Kage convince Jane that the safest place to be is in his arms?
Toot's Book Review by Stacy Sabala
Jane has lived with a drug dealing monster for four years unbeknownst to her until a couple of years ago. For the last year Scott has turned to violence and threats. One night after working late, he cornered her in the parking lot of the law firm she worked for. He broke her ribs and stuck a gun in her mouth, threatening to kill her. She had to get away.
She finally ran and ended up back in her hometown, staying with her brother and his friends. Her brother Garrett owns an automotive garage that also holds the private eye/security business. He and four of his childhood friends work together saving people who can’t save themselves. Garrett, Lance, Kage and Tony had no idea what Jane was living through until she came back.
She is just waiting for Scott to come back for her, but she is prepared to kill him if she has to. She is protecting all her loved ones by keeping her ordeal to herself. Unfortunately her brother and his partners know what she has been living through and are preparing to confront Scott when he comes for her. They know who and what he is. They will be ready to protect Jane and know that Scott won’t get her back.
Kage knew how Jane felt about him when she was seventeen. He felt unworthy of her and pushed her away. He would not let his incarcerated father or his drug pin uncle ruin the life he has built for himself. He is now ready for Jane to be apart of it. He is furious at what she has had to endure and if need be will have his uncle take care of Scott. He refuses to do anything but protect her. He wants her and he will wait for her.
The Beaumont Body Shop boys are taking all precautions and preparations for the showdown that is inevitable. Jane refuses to endanger them, she is making her own plans. She will go back to Scott if she has to.
The motion is set and Kage will throw away his potential relationship with Jane if it guarantees that she will live. He will be indebted to his uncle if he has to. Hopefully it won’t come to that.
This book was a wild ride. You feel for Jane when she is trapped and in agony. Then her fear takes her over. She is withdrawn and won’t let anyone help her. The fear she has is almost tangible. I love that she has four scary guys protecting her. Kage is definitely an alpha male and yummy. My favorite type of romance is when the male character knows he wants the female character and has to woo her. This is definitely that type with some adventure, danger and drugs thrown in for good measure.

Sounds pretty exciting. I haven't seen her books before but will have to give them a try! I love when the hero knows what he wants and has to work for it too :) Always fun to watch play out!
