Book Blurb
Sometimes dreams are where you least expect them.
Connor O’Malley and Becca Sanders were once high school sweethearts, ripped apart by rumors in the small town of Kortville, Illinois. Connor left to join the military, and Becca stayed, waiting for her younger brother to graduate so she could live her dreams of traveling the world. But now that Connor's back as the town sheriff, Becca finds herself struggling to resist the too-handsome man who once broke her heart.
Connor loves Kortville—its quaintness keeps at bay the painful memories of Afghanistan he’s sure make him unworthy of any woman, particularly the beautiful brunette he’s always secretly dreamed of a future with. But when a scandal rocks the town, suddenly Connor and Becca must trust in each other if they want to weather this storm…and come out on the other side of it together.

5 Things Fans Don’t Know About
Me
By Sara Daniel
- Like the road-weary travelers Connor helps in Love Him or Leave Him, my GPS is five years out of date and frantically tries to reroute me from plunging into rivers and off-roading through fields as I cruise along on roads it swears don’t exist.
- I don’t write on my desk computer. I can’t even write in the same room when it’s on. The internet is WAY too distracting! I write on a laptop with no internet access or on my AlphaSmart word processor in another room or outside.
- I prefer to write in silence or to the sounds of nature. If I can’t get away from the noise in the house, I will wear my oh-so-sexy noise-silencing headphones to concentrate.
- My ideal vacation is relaxing near the water. Ocean, river, lake, or creek—I’m not picky! The constant flow of water calms me and restores my creative soul.
- Every time I hear a story or read an article with a sad/tragic/unsatisfying ending, my mind immediately tries to come up with a way to give those people a happy ending. Not everyone gets a happily ever after in real life, but I love to deliver a fictional one as my small light of hope to the world.
5 Things Fans Don’t Know About Love
Him or Leave Him
- This book came into existence because of my awesome editor. I was editing Construction Beauty Queen when she planted the idea of a sequel using continuing characters. Becca and Connor immediately let me know they had a story that needed to be told, and the “Small Town, Big Dreams” series was born.
- In my first attempt at writing Love Him or Leave Him, Connor and Becca were best friends. Um yeah, that didn’t work. At all. I dumped those pages, figured out their history together, and started over. They were much more cooperative characters to write after I got their situation right!
- At the point in the story where Connor inhales a spice during the cocoa contest and chokes, “I have no idea what it is, but it’s not meant to be snorted,” my editor gently suggested I mention what spice he’d sniffed so my readers weren’t left wondering. Ummm. Connor didn’t know, so I didn’t know either! I dashed to my pantry and uncapped and sniffed each spice, until I settled on cloves as the perfect choice. Then I had to run a Google search to make sure people didn’t actually snort cloves. In case you’re wondering, most people don’t, although some apparently have tried!
- Toby’s friend Nick was originally named Zack, until I realized I’d already referenced another Zack in Construction Beauty Queen. To avoid making the same mistake again, I created a spreadsheet of all the characters I’d named and/or referenced for the “Small Town, Big Dreams” series and which book(s) they appeared in. Now I can keep everything straight and not overload on the same letter of the alphabet when new characters enter the picture.
- You’ll see Connor and Becca again! I love writing the sweet, small town romances of the “Small Town, Big Dreams” series, and I can’t wait to return to Kortville and create more happily-ever-afters for other characters introduced in Love Him or Leave Him…and those who haven’t been introduced yet. Of course while we’re visiting town, we’ll check in with Connor & Becca and Matt & Veronica and enjoy a slice of their happily ever after!

I
write what I love—irresistible
romance, from sweet to erotic and everything in between. On the personal
side, I'm a frazzled maid, chauffeur, and slave to my children. I was once a landlord
of two uninvited squirrels. (The children's book The Bravest Squirrel Ever by my
alter-egoSara Shafer is
the squirrel's fictionalized version of that experience!) I'm crazy about
country music and the drama of NASCAR. And I have my very own
happily-ever-after romance with my hero husband.

Aw I read this one this weekend Sara and loved it. That scene with the clove snorting gave me a good laugh. Can't wait to see them all again in the next one :)
