Review : Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh (PNR)

Book Blurb

Step into New York Times bestseller Nalini Singh's explosive and shockingly passionate Psy-Changeling world...

A dangerous, volatile rebel, hands stained bloodred.

A woman whose very existence has been erased.

A love story so dark, it may shatter the world itself.

A deadly price that must be paid.

The day of reckoning is here.

From "the alpha author of paranormal romance" (Booklist) comes the most highly anticipated novel of her career--one that blurs the line between madness and genius, between subjugation and liberation, between the living and the dead.

Toot's Review

Heart of Obsidian is the newest addition to Nalini Singh's Psy/Changling series. This is Kaleb's story. He has always been the enigmatic young council member in the Psy race whom was the protégé of a monster. You always wondered throughout the series, whenever he was brought up, of how much of a protégé he actually was. Would he eventually become the monster his teacher was, was he a wolf in sheeps clothing or was Kaleb his own man? Come to find out, he is his own man and OMG I love him, sorry Judd you've been replaced! If you are a fan of the series or of book series in general, there's always that book that comes out that rocks the entire series world and this is that book. This book answers soooooo many questions and is just the epitome of the Psy/Changling series in general. You will not be disappointed at all. Nalini has hit a home run with this book!

So if you don't want spoilers, stop reading now. I'll try to write the synopsis as vague as possible but I still need to do some set up.

When Kaleb was a young man, his teacher had a business meeting with someone whom had a little girl visiting. While the men talked business, the little girl, Sahara, was instructed to give Kaleb a tour of the grounds. While they walked and talked, they bonded. Kaleb already being so ingrained in Silence had never had a friend and being raised with a monster, it was never a possibility, until he met Sahara. Sahara was never good a Silence. She definitely had flaws in her training but when she met Kaleb, she felt an immediate connection. She also knew he was in trouble and needed help. Soon the pair became the best of friends. Kaleb found ways to slip his leash and Sahara loved seeing him. As the years progressed, their friendship started to turn into something more but then Sahara vanished! Kaleb searched years and years for her, never giving up, always knowing he would find her again someday and if she was dead, the world would crumble at his feet.

Deep right???? I don't want to give more away, so I'll stop there but I do want to say this..... Sahara is absolutely the only person I could see taming the powerful Kaleb. I know I say this alot but they are absolutely perfectly matched. Personally I also don't think I could rave more about this book. If you want a fabulous PNR series with shapeshifters, Psy and humans, read this series!!!!  Just take my word for it and go buy it, NOW!!!

5 OUT OF 5!!!!
Really, was there any doubt??
