Tour Hosted by
A man who doesn’t like change . . .
The Wilder family is something of a Sweet, TX institution: between their yearly BBQ blow-outs and their Hardware and Feed store, they’re an institution—an institution that ex-marine Reno Wilder has tried to preserve, in honor of his lost loved ones. But it seems like he’s the only one who’s got any respect left for traditions when a new TV makeover show rolls in to renovate Sweet to bring in more tourists. Everyone is pleased except Reno—and this cowboy is determined to keep everything just the way he likes it.
A woman who wants to change everything . . .
Inquisitive. Stubborn. Smart. Drop dead gorgeous. That would be makeover show host and designer, Charlotte Brooks—the woman Reno has declared war against. And yet, he can’t seem to keep away from her, or to get her off his mind. Charlotte isn’t afraid to back down from a challenge—of any kind—and she’s promised to prove to Reno that change can be sexy, hot, and very, very sweet, if Reno and Charli learn to let go of their pasts and grab hold of a future full of promise.

Toot's Review
Anything by Sweet is a cute little contemporary romance
about a TV show called My New Town. The premise of the show is to pick a small, rundown town and
choose 3 businesses in the town that a face-lift will benefit, thereby
increasing tourist traffic and breathe new life into the town in general. At
the behest of its senior citizens, whom contacted the show, the next lucky town
of Sweet, Texas is the shows next stop. The show's host, Charlotte
"Charli" Brooks, has come to town as well as a whole slew of production
crew and contractors. Soon they find out that Sweet is the perfect location for
the renovation and it has come none too soon. Charli needs to make a stand in
her career or lose it forever. She also has a feeling that Sweet is the place
to do it. Not only does Sweet have the most wholesome, most welcoming people they've
come a crossed but she can also do a little something extra for them on her
shoe-string budget. So she decides to make a special accommodation for them.
They will renovate 6 businesses instead of
their typical 3. She holds a town meeting and tells the town of the
treat for the super Sweet (yep, I had to go there!). Charli has chosen, in no
particular order, The Senior Center, The Candy Store, The BBQ restaurant, The
Mercantile, The Town Square and lastly, The Hardware Store but the only thing
standing in her way at The Hardware Store, is it's gorgeous owner, Reno Wilder.
Reno absolutely hates the "town renovation" idea.
He hates everything about it including the "fancy pants" city girl
host! No way is he going to have his family run hardware/feed store girl-ified
by some city folks and change what hard work his dead father put into the
store. NOOOOO WAY! He absolutely hates change.
As you can imagine, this story is a classic "What
happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?" The
unstoppable force being Charli and the immovable object being Reno. Sparks
ignite and eventually (come on' it's a romance), romance blooms in the sweet
town of Sweet, Texas.
I honestly liked the characters. I found Reno, the hunky
broody type with a heart of gold and Charli is a total spitfire. She never
gives up and I love seeing how Charli's mind works. She's the epitome of a
"can-do" person. She can get anyone to do anything and doesn't take
"no" for an answer. Absolutely adorable!
Now, if I can find a Sweet of my own!
Guest Post
Hey, thanks for having me here today! Let’s have some fun.
WHAT ARE 5 THINGS
FANS DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
- I am an awesome cook. Not a chef by any means as I’m the a pinch of this, a splash of that kind of cook. But I’m pretty sure my cooking skills are what nabbed my hubby. Well, at least of the skills I can tell you about.
- I was once a child stage and TV performer and in my twenties I sang in a rock band. At the age of seven I made a record and at the age of eight I sang and danced on The Jack Barry Show from Hollywood.
- I completely stress out with every single book I write and drive my family nuts claiming “It sucks.” They always reply, “You say that every time.” I always respond “But I mean it this time.”
- I once had a white poodle named Petite and a black cat named Satan. Both were a little crazy. But I loved them anyway.
- When I was a kid my mother had her favorite four letter word. My dad would always tell her to stop using it or she’d be sorry. Christmastime when I was five years old my dad went all out with the exterior decorating of the house which included painted plywood cut-outs of Santa, his sleigh, and the reindeer up on our roof highlighted by a flood light. One night my parents and I returned home late from dinner out. As we pulled into the driveway I looked up at Santa and the reindeer on the roof and noticed one had fallen down. To which I loudly proclaimed, “Look Mommy, Santa kicked the sh*t out of Rudolph!” My father just looked at my mom and said, “Told ya.”
WHAT ARE 5 THINGS FANS DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOUR BOOK
ANYTHING BUT SWEET?
- Originally Charli’s name was going to be Alexandra Galini.
- Charli was really hard to contain. She had so much energy and ideas it was difficult to keep her to just making over six places. The Sweet Town Square project was so big I thought that would clip her sails just a little, but no.
- Reno, on the other hand, was really hard to pull from his grumpiness. He likes it there and planned to stay there for a good long while. But with Charli being so effervescent, I knew he’d be attracted right away, so even if he was grumpy he couldn’t resist the flirty attraction. Even if he thought it might kill him.
- Because my editor is amazing and astute to what my readers want, the ending was completely rewritten in revisions. Thank God!
- Every reader should be able to picture in their mind what a character looks like and I always hate to spoil that for anyone. However, when I pictured Reno’s dimples, I saw actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan in his role as Denny Duquette on Grey’s Anatomy.
