This is book one in the Dark Hart Chronicles and I already love this series. This is a story about a vampire who has become a famous musician named Nick Hart. He is world famous but is a recluse and the press wants to get any type of story on him. The public knows nothing about him. He is a total enigma.

Savannah Wood works as a personal assistant in Hollywood. Her last employer’s bad habits brought about his public down fall and she is currently looking for a new job. She attends a party with best friend and celebrity blogger Siobhan where she catches the eye of Nick Hart. There is an instant attraction between them as they eye each other across the room. Savannah misses the chance to speak to him after she hesitates to approach him. She looks his way after making her decision to talk to him and he is gone.

The next morning she gets a call from her godfather offering her an interview for a PA job for one of his clients. She is excited and determined to get the job. She needs it after what happened with the last one she had. When she enters the room ready to knock the ball out of the park in the interview, she is shocked to find out the client is Nick Hart. His dark good looks and total hotness are going to be a distraction, but she is determined to stick to her rules. She takes the job and finds that sticking to her rules is going to be very difficult, especially when Nick decides she is the one he wants. He has to persuade her that it will work even though he is her boss.

Nick has secrets that he is keeping from Savannah and when she learns them her world is turned upside down. Danger is lurking in every shadow and so is the paparazzi trying to get anything they can on Nick. Savannah has to decide if being with Nick is worth everything that comes with it.

This story was right up my alley. I love romance stories about tortured musicians and this did not disappoint. The romance between Nick and Savannah was hot yet sweet. He would sing to her which made your heart melt. During the love scenes, the reader may need to fan themselves from the heat generated. The author does a fabulous job pulling you in as the story moves along. You are watching Savannah work through her fears about relationships. The fact that Nick is a vampire and Savannah doesn’t know, keeps the story interesting. The danger from an unknown outside source adds tension and intrigue. I loved the combination and could not put it down. I am waiting impatiently for the next installment. I give this 5 out of 5 books.
