So after my last book, I wasn't sure how quickly I should be jumping into another book because I was still reeling from the first but who doesn't love anything Jeaniene Frost does?
Being a fan of Jeaniene's version of Vlad, I eagerly gobbled the book up. I've loved her version of Vlad since way back in the Night Huntress series. He's always been ruthless with a heart of gold and this book is no exception. In fact, this book probably shows more of his ruthless side and dives more into the history then any book so far. One thing us romance lovers take for granted is that even though there's a typically HEA, doesn't mean that life will be all wine and roses forever. Authors are more and more showing how a couple is progressing in follow up books and lots of times, they are having issues of some sort. Same goes for this sophomore book in the Night Prince series. We start off with the book being mainly from Leila's POV and she's telling us about how difficult it has been to be in love with not only Vlad but also a Vampire. Right away the author is setting the scene for the conflict between the two. As the story progresses, we find out that someone is also after Leila as well as her family and thrown into the mix is a nice little love triangle which could have deadly repercussions for all involved.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice follow up to the first. Vlad is smokin' and Leila is electrifying, LOL. I'd add it to your TBR pile.
