Book Blurb
When Gabe Hamilton saw Mia Crestwell walk into the ballroom for his hotel’s grand opening, he knew he was going to hell for what he had planned. After all, Mia is his best friend’s little sister. Except she’s not so little anymore. And Gabe has waited a long time to act on his desires.
Gabe has starred in Mia’s fantasies more than once, ever since she was a teenager with a huge crush on her brother’s best friend. So what if Gabe’s fourteen years older? Mia knows he’s way out of her league, but her attraction has only grown stronger with time. She’s an adult now, and there’s no reason not to act on her most secret desires.
As Gabe pulls her into his provocative world, she realizes there’s a lot she doesn’t know about him or how exacting his demands can be. Their relationship is intense and obsessive, but as they cross the line from secret sexual odyssey to something deeper, their affair runs the risk of being exposed—and vulnerable to a betrayal far more intimate than either expected.

Toot's Review
OMG, so let me first say this about RUSH......It had so much gratuitous sex and such a wonderfully deliciously romantic ending that all my girl parts including my heart were a sappy quivering mess. Now how's that for a tag line, LOL. This was definitely an up-all-night, no sleep for me, can't put it down book.
When I decided to read this book, I was in the mood for a contemporary romance with lots of smexy. So of course I reached for Maya Banks. Rush is the first book in the series Breathless Trilogy. It is a two person POV, hero and heroine. So with that being said, let me give you a little synopsis from my POV.
The Breathless Trilogy is about 3 collage friends who have created a hotel empire, Gabe, Jace and Ash. This is Gabe's story. Gabe is the opener/closer of their machine. He sets up the business deals for new hotels or property and then comes in at the end of the negotiation and closes. He's very controlling and always gets his way especially in business but also in any relationships. For years he's had his eye on Jace's little sister but she was just that, little....well young, try 14 years younger but she's no longer little and he's set his sights on her. Maya, is well aware that her brother and his friends are multi-billionaire playboys who want nothing more then to protect her and make her happy but she doesn't want to be a leach or use them in any manner. So other then letting her brother buy her an apartment, she lives a very meager life and works at a local bakery. She does however enjoy making her brother happy as well. One day she decides to surprise him and meet him at a social function but unfortunately he's not there but Gabe is. She has always had a crush on his brother's friend since she was a teen but he's always ignored her and made her feel like Jace's "little" sister. Well she's a woman now dammit and he will treat her as such! Gabe sees Maya from across the room and she is dressed to kill. He decides he's waited long enough and is going to make his move to make Maya his or at least his plaything-dejour.
This is one of those new CR books that have your new classic story line of difficult, kinky, rich guy takes virginal, new girl under his wing at his corporate office to give her a job in and out of the bedroom but in the end, girl brings butthead to his knees. Even though this book has the same formula as some of the new classics by E.L. James and Sylvia Day, this one is bursting with drama, hard core sex and equally hard core romance. Usually in these type of books, you still follow the typical romance formula but it's usually heavy on sex and then there's the alpha male's "come to Jesus" moment where he professes his love and the girl takes him back. The girl always folds when he sees the error of his ways but not here, Maya is totally kick ass and takes no prisoners. I can't wait for the rest of the series!!!
5 out of 5 books!

This was a decent erotic romance, but I didn’t really connect with the characters. Their “relationship” felt a bit trite, dull, and emotionless, and I actually got bored with the sex scenes. The angst and drama seemed needless and calculated, although it resulted in some good groveling by the hero. I love Maya Banks, but this didn’t quite live up to my expectations. Hopefully Jace’s and Ash’s books will be better.
