Blurb from Amazon.com:

Welcome To A World Where Nothing Is What It Seems And Every Touch Is Ecstasy
When Alexandria’s car goes off the road in a terrible blizzard, she has no idea night will bring a powerful rescuer and the start of an ecstatic sexual awakening. The moment Xandi wakes in Stefan’s muscular arms, feels the heat of his body pressing against hers, she feels no fear. Instead, she allows herself to be taken by one who is more than a man, whose primal nature is never far from him. As their connection grows, and as Xandi gradually loses her sensual inhibitions, experiencing pleasures she never dreamed possible, she is drawn deeper into Stefan’s mysterious world, meeting the alluring beauty, Keisha, as well as the dominant and sometimes ruthlessly commanding Anton, who can have any man or woman he wants…in any way he wishes…

Ok so as you probably can tell, this is a very very adult book but I'm slowly working my way through Kate Douglas's many series and of course seeing as how I have just finished the first book, I have to post my review. Plus I promised her I'd be her stalker at the 2016 RWA, so I need to make sure I'm all caught up for my duties, LOL (inside joke). The cover above is from the first release of series, it since has gotten a new cover but unfortunately it's a bit more adult then I think Blogger wants me to post?
Anywho, the first book in the series is actually broken up into 5 stories. One for each of the main characters and a short Xmas story. Just in case you didn't gather from the blurb and book cover, this book is very very very heavy on the sex but it's definitely got some strong characters. So far it's a bit light on the plot but if you're looking for some great love scenes involving any combo of the 4 characters, this book is it. What I love about Kate Daniels is that you're never bored. She delivers unique stories, heavy on the love scenes and characters. It's always unique and well written. This is a classic werewolf shape shifter story. It's about a wizard who discovers that some people are born with a recessed gene that if given certain nutrients, those people actually shift into wolves. The wizard Anton is on a quest to find more from this gene pool and hopefully bring back his dying race before they are extinct. The first story is of Stefan and how he finds his mate Xandi. They are a very fun couple and for being such a quick story, it's a fun read. Story 2 is of Xandi and her transformation from regular girl into hawt wolf girl. Story 3 is supposed to be about Anton although it's really more about Keisha. The following stories after that really center more around Keisha. She is actually Anton's mate but when we meet her we discover she survived a brutal rape and the murder of those rapists. She has a lot of ground to cover before she can even except her wolfiness or her new family. I do have to say, even though I grew to love these characters, I was a bit done with Keisha by the end and am eager to move onto new characters, which the next books promise. All in all, if you want hot steamy wolfiness....you got it in these books. Like I said, they aren't heavy on plot but are definitely chalk full of sexy goodness.
Update: I've finished a few more books in the series and I'm definately loving the series more. It reminds me a lot of Lora Leigh's Breed Series but on the lighter side. I think the first book, she was feeling her way and world building but definitely as the series goes on, it hits it stride. Again, if you don't mind adult books, then this is a great addition for some wolfiness.
Another Update: I just finished book 7 and 8. I actually really loved these books. I absolutely love Adam. He's some howt wolfiness. I definately recommend this series. Again, still heavy on the sex but that's what these books are all about but there's also some great plot building and you really get a good story that ties a lot of the past books together. These are a total reunion of all the characters from the previous books. Someone is out to capture the women and children with nothing but bad intensions. So all the packs come together at Anton's house to find a solution. What I loved about these books is that the woman are just as strong as the men, if not stronger. What I found most important, the characters interact naturally. Sometimes with that many characters on deck, things get muddy but not here. Kate does a great job pairing people off and still staying true to each. I still have a few more to read in the series but I know it's going to be a great ride. Definately recommend the series!

5 out of 5 books!

  1. You nailed it--I WAS finding my way! This series started as an online serial at Changeling Press, and I had no idea where it was going. However, once Kensington Publishing bought the series, and wanted more books with more characters, I finally hit my stride. The cover you've displayed is the one from the Changeling Press version.

I ended up writing 21 stories--the Wolf Tales books and the Sexy Beast "Chanku" novellas. I'm currently working on the second generation series, Spirit Wild. Think about it--all that sex, you're gonna get a lot of babies! Now they're all grown up and dealing with their adult lives.

Thanks for the review! Much appreciated.
