Hey all two of my followers..... I thought I'd post a public service announcement.....Just in case you didn't know.......If you have a Tablet, Ereader or Smart phone, you can download free books from Amazon (Kindle), Barnes and Noble (Nook), Kobo and such for free via their respective apps.
The easiest thing that I do, is I go on the main site (take Amazon for example) via my home computer and click on books (left hand side of screen), then sort via the category I like (left hand side of screen), then sort by price (top right hand side of screen under the cart icon). This then lists all the free books that are available (see the prices $0.00). I just buy them with "One Click" and they will then be downloaded to my Kindle app on my phone and tablet. This is also similar for the Nook and Kobo. If you like Ellora's Cave, they also have free books but you have to go to the site and download them to your computer then transfer them to your respective reader (I don't believe they have an app).
Now when the websites first started this, it was classics and books no one wanted but Authors and Publishers are starting to see how this can draw readers in. They are now offering very good authors and more popular series for free to hook you in. Usually what they do is offer the first book in a series as the free one, almost like a tester. There are always different books available, so keep checking back. Also I recommend joining a few book groups on Yahoo Groups and following your favorite authors on Facebook and/or Twitter. They can all be very helpful in directing you to free books and/or new authors you might enjoy.
Hope that helps!
