Book Blurb
Ivy is an anomaly-she is the only person who has ever walked away from a demon kiss alive. Her survival gives her unique and deadly abilities. Too powerful to ignore, Ivy is a threat to both armies. These two ancient enemies will stop at nothing to kill the seventeen-year-old.
Surviving is nothing new for headstrong Ivy, but her survival has never depended on another person before. This time it does. And if she misplaces her trust, she's dead. To her horror, she starts falling in love at the worst possible time-with the enemy. He appears to be protecting her. But she can't be certain if he is trying to help her, or help himself to her power. For Ivy, trusting the right person is the difference between love and survival, or a deadly demon kiss.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala
Ivy just
wants to spend time with her boyfriend.
However, when he tries to suck her soul out of her, she is shocked. He is a demon and she has the mark of a
Martis. Her lab partner, Eric, comes to
her rescue. She never knew what he
really was. This new world has opened up
to her and she doesn’t know what to think.
She now has to keep this huge secret.
When she sees the mysterious painting, the truth is revealed. She is the
one in the prophesy. If Eric and the
other Martis find out, they will try to kill her as ordered.
She is also
shocked at the bond she is forming with Collin.
He has always been her best friend.
He doesn’t like how Eric is around now.
Ivy is shocked when those around her say Collin is in love with
her. Her mentor is a nun as she learns more
about her powers. She also continues to
hide the fact she is the girl in the prophesy.
However,
everything changes when secrets come out.
She has to reveal who she is and Collin has a secret of his own. Ivy is stunned and heartbroken as a major
betrayal comes to light and the truth about her sister is revealed.
I liked this
book. It was fast paced and kept you
pulled in. I felt for Ivy. She is forced into this new world she has no
idea about. Then she finds out that she
is part of the prophesy that releases a great evil. You can just feel her shock and fear jump
from the pages. She has to hide her
secret and figure out what to do. She
basically has to do things alone.
I love that
Eric helps her but it is sad that if he learns the truth, they are instantly
enemies. Collin is her true focus as he
seems to be a part of all of this.
Unfortunately, his actions are so shocking. I wasn’t expecting the direction the author
took it. I could just hear and feel Ivy’s heart break.
Then with
the prophesy the reader has no idea what is going to happen until the author
presents it. It was a great read and I
can’t wait to see what happens next. I
give it a 4 out of 5.
