Review: The Knight of Her Dreams (Dragons and Dreamphasers, Book 1) by Jen Robyn

Book Blurb

What if the love you believed in… turned out to be an illusion?
What if you met someone in your dreams… who turned out to be real?

When her ex-boyfriend leaves her, Julianna Sherborne thinks it coincidence when she starts dreaming of an engaging man who is everything her unfaithful ex was not. Yet when her dream man begins appearing night after night, she wonders if there’s more to it than a lonely imagination.

The mysteriously charming Dominick Westbrooke claims to be a dreamphaser, traveling to her from a distant world of magic hidden by mists on the other side of the sun. Replacing her sadness with an atmosphere of romance, he surprises her each night by magically creating a realm where they meet on rainbows, a spaceship, a dream castle by the ocean… and fall in love.

But from two very distant worlds, and a growing array of complications…

Can the love of their dreams find a way to become reality?

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Juliana is heartbroken when Roger cheats on her.  Her sadness carries over into her dreams as she sees him riding away.  However, a mysterious man appears in the dream after Roger departs.  Dominic attempts to sway her to get a kiss. She refuses to give into his charms and rides away.
After the dream she can’t seem to get Dominic out of her mind.  She thinks about what occurred in that dream.  She sees him two months later in another dream.  After that Dominic makes it a point to appear in her dreams every night. They start seeing each other in her dreams.  Little does she know, Dominic lives on another planet.  He is a dreamphaser.  He can only visit humans in their dreams.  They continue to see each other every night and start a relationship and Dominic can’t seem to leave her be.  Moving on to another is not possible now.

This book looked interesting at first.  I wasn’t sure what to expect and it contained a real sci-fi theme with the two planets.  I figured that Dominic had a special power and would find Juliana in reality.  That was not the case.  The direction the author took it wasn’t bad, just unexpected.  So I found it intriguing to see how everything unfolded.  However, after awhile Juliana really got on my nerves.  She came across as younger than she truly was and I didn’t like how weak she appeared.  I like a strong female character.  The author would try in some parts of the story, but it wasn’t believable.  I had a hard time reading the whole book.  It took me a while to get through the story. I was an ok read.  I give it a 3 out of 5.
