Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

In this next book of the Witches and Warlocks series, Portia is devastated.  She was able to stop Vance’s conversion and save his life, but he left anyway.  He is searching for his father on his own without the safety of the coven.  She fears for his life and she refuses to sit by and let him do this on his own.  She entrusts her two non-magic friends to help her.  They are looking for any sign of Vance and information on his father, Damien.
After finding Vance and revealing what she feels toward him, they decide to work together.  Their search takes them out of the country.  When they find Vance’s father, they are shocked at what he does.  They need a plan in order to defeat him as he grows stronger.  Unfortunately, Damien has his own plans for Vance and Portia.
I love this series.  Portia and Vance are awesome together.  I love the bond that the author has created between them.  The beginning of this book showed Portia’s heartbreak and devastation, then her resolve in finding Vance.  She didn’t hold back when she found him.  It was fun to read as she let him have it.  It knocked some sense into the boy.

The story evolved from there full of intrigue and shocking secrets as Vance, Portia, their friends and the coven find Vance’s father and figure out what he is really doing.  The author makes Damien purely evil.  He is an excellent villain that makes your skin crawl.  The ending was full of the epic confrontation between father and son.  It was an awesome addition.  I love the direction the author is taking things.  I give it a 4.5 out of 5.
