Book Blurb
Leah Martin has spent her life trying to avoid temptation. But she's sick of low-fat snacks, counting calories, and her hyper-critical mom. Fortunately, her popular new bakery keeps her good and distracted. But there aren't enough éclairs in the world to distract Leah from the hotness that is Sam Cooper - or the fact that he just told her mother that they're engaged . . . which is a big, fat lie.
Sam sometime speaks before he thinks. So what started out as defending Leah's date-ability to her judgmental mother soon turned into having a fiancee! Now the plan is to keep up the fake engagement, stay "just friends," and make Leah's family loathe him enough to just call the whole thing off . But Sam has an insatiable sweet tooth, not only for Leah's decadent desserts but her decadent curves. Her full lips. Her bright green eyes. Yep, things aren't going quite according to plan. Now Sam has to convince Leah that he's for real . . . before their little lie turns into one big, sweet disaster.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala
Leah Martin
owns a bakery with her friend Valerie.
Leah has a problem with how she looks.
She is very curvy and finds it a turn off for guys. Her mother is highly critical also. So after meeting Sam while out with Val, Leah
is very discouraged. She thought things
were going well until Sam turned into a jerk and then got her kicked out of the
club.
Things
didn’t get much better when he went to save her from her ex-boyfriend, claiming
they were a couple. Leah’s mother was
completely thrilled. Leah has no clue
how to handle the situation she finds herself in. Sam feels horrible about his part in the
whole thing. He is determined to help
fix things.
The plan is
to make her parents hate him so she can walk away easily. Both are in agreement as the plan starts to
unfold. However Sam gets a good idea of
the dynamics of Leah’s family. He starts
liking them, even though her mother treats Leah horribly. Sam can’t go through with things the way he
wants to. Plus his attraction to Leah is
growing. She is a funny and smart
woman. His own relationship issues are
holding him back while Leah’s issues with her weight cloud her confidence. Things fall apart before anything ever gets
started.
This book
was crazy. The fake fiancé storyline was
a crack up. Things just got worse as the
story went on. Then throw in Leah’s
issue with her size and how her mother pointed it out all the time, I felt
horrible for her. An excellent example
of cruel words making you feel bad about yourself, even as an adult. The negative self-image the author gave Leah
was very realistic and understandable as the story evolved.
Sam was an
awesome character in the sense that Leah’s size didn’t bother him in the least. He found her attractive from the
beginning. However he did act like an
idiot for most of the story. Nothing
like wanting to smack him on several occasions.
The author put them into situations that surprised me. I’m surprised Leah didn’t knee him for his
foot-in-mouth syndrome. I was shaking my
head, thinking Men!, as I read this story.
With that in mind I love the book.
It was fun to read and I thought the ending was well worth the
wait. A recommended book. I give it a 4 out of 5.
