Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala
Dmitri is
sent to an archaeological dig on his isle home where the skeleton of a dragon
has been found. He hasn’t been back
since he sent his dragons away. He
wonders who the skeleton is. His job is
to destroy all evidence of the bones to keep humans from having definite proof
of dragons.
Faith
Reynolds is the archaeologist on the dig.
She found the bones and her team has slowly been excavating on the site. The bones are located in a cave that she has
to climb down to get to. However while
she is immersed in her work, her assistant, Tamir can feel evil closing in. He is worried for everyone’s safety. When Dmitri arrives Tamir is happy for the
help keeping Faith safe.
The dark are
closing in. Dmitri has to figure out how
the dragon died, his growing feelings for Faith and what the Dark are up
to. He takes both Faith and the bones
back to Dreagan thinking they would be safe, a feeling of dread is overwhelming
Dmitri. Something else is going on and
the Kings are all at risk as are the mates.
I love this
series. The dragon kings are great
characters. I like the history the
author has created. They are such
tortured characters including Ulrik. I
can’t wait until he finds his mate. That
will be an interesting story, the same with Con.
Dimitri is
one of the stubborn ones when it comes to human mates until he meets
Faith. He fights it of course like they
all do. That is one of my favorite
parts. The king fighting his feelings
when the reader knows he is going to lose.
The mind
type control that appeared in this story is a new twist. The author keeps adding new things. Each story in the series progresses the epic
battle between the kings and Ulrik. It’s
like watching a chess game. You don’t
know what the author will throw at you next.
This book was full of twists and turns, new characters and old ones. The mind control was crazy. Dmitri and Con being the first affected. The story takes on a new tone when these
instances occur. It seems no one is safe
even at Dreagan. I give this book a 4
out of 5.
