Tyler has been gone for a year and Eden hasn’t heard from him.  She has no idea where he even is.  Her anger is acute.  He left her behind to deal with all the fallout from the public realization of their relationship.  Her father and Step-brother Jamie hate her.  The people her age think she is a freak and talk about her behind her back.  She should have stayed in Chicago for the summer.  The hardest so far is the Fourth of July.  That was always their special day.  She finds herself miserable and then gets mad at herself for feeling that way.

Her life takes an unexpected turn when Tyler comes back.  He is surprised at her anger and how she has given up.  He is determined to win her back.  The battle is up hill and her dad refuses to let it happen.  Eden has to decide if he is worth the fight, if their love is strong enough.

I loved this series. I travelled the whole journey with Eden as she realized her feelings and as her relationship with Tyler developed.  It was an emotional roller coaster.  The author did a great job of illustrating to the reader the doubt and guilt Eden felt.  The situation was a rough one and the reader is beside Eden as she experiences everything.  Her anger is understandable as was her hurt.  She was definitely a relatable character that reacted as anyone would.

Tyler was broken and you come to realize that as the story continues.  Unfortunately he handled the situation completely wrong.  I couldn’t figure out if he ever intended on coming back to Eden.  That part was a bit confusing but entirely moot in the long run.

It was an emotional story and I liked how Eden realized what she wanted and went after it no matter the consequences.  I also liked how both main characters tried to fix their relationships with their parents.  It truly ended on a positive note.  I give it a 5 out of 5.
