Review : The Sapphire Talisman (Talisman #2) by Brenda Pandos

Book Blurb

With the local vampire coven decimated, Julia and Nicholas try to begin a somewhat normal life together. Bound by secrecy from a shape shifter determined to see Julia’s world-saving prediction come to fruition, Julia isn’t allowed to tell Nicholas the leader survived, ransacking her happiness with guilt. When Alora returns, bent on revenge, the reunion forces Nicholas and Julia to choose what they are willing to live and die for.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Julia is in possession of the talisman for protection. The coven was destroyed, so she and Nicholas have received a reprieve. They have had time to get to know one another better. However, Julia is afraid of the information she withheld from Nicholas. She knows it will blow up in her face eventually.

She talks him into taking her to LA when he goes. While there she meets Henry and sees Nicholas’ father. Their love for each other continues to grow deeper but Julia knows that Alora will be back. Plus the prophesy involving Julia weighs heavily on her mind.

When Alora returns a shocking secret is revealed. Nicholas is captured and his dark side released. Julia is torn between saving Nicholas and stopping Alora and her vampires. Her world comes crashing down.

This installment was even better than the first. Julia was better in this book. She reacted more maturely. I liked her character more. She was willing to fight for Nicholas. She appeared determined, refused to lose what she had.

The plot was full of heart break and dangerous situations. Then when secrets are revealed, everything the characters believed true is shattered into pieces. You feel Julia’s frustration and sadness. Her heartbreak is written in a sense that brings tears to your eyes. I give this installment a 4 out of 5. I eagerly await the next part.
