Kat has healed from being shot and is living at the farm working with the horses and painting. The band has been on tour for eight months and is finally coming home. Kat has missed Emily but is afraid of what will happen with Ream. They were not on good terms when he left. She is an adult and decides to just ignore him.Unfortunately Ream has other ideas. He was gone long enough to figure out that she is exactly what he wants. He is determined to prove it to her. Kat is in trouble. Ream isn’t giving up and wants her to give him all of her, even the parts she doesn’t admit to herself. When Kat is attacked, Ream goes ballistic but refuses to leave her, which is her biggest fear. Her health is going to prove difficult in the future and she needs him to have the ability to handle it.
An ultimate betrayal is around the corner that almost destroys everything. The most unlikely person saves the day, especially when Ream’s past comes back to haunt him in a big way.
This series is gritty and full of difficult subjects. The characters are faced with many unthinkable trials and live through them. They are strong, passionate and survivors. I am quickly becoming invested in the group of characters.
The storyline is full of shocking secrets, determination to get passed issues from the past and finding a promising future. The ride is very bumpy and full of angst and even danger. However it is well worth every minute. I give it a 5 out of 5.
