Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala
Mac has the hots for Delilah. His feelings haven’t changed but he never acts on them. His life revolves around his membership in the Knights, a secret government group that works for the president. Just months ago, all hell broke loose at Delilah’s and her oldest patron was killed. Mac almost gave into his feelings and comforted her. Now she tries to escape her bar when she can. The bad memories are getting to her.
So when she approaches Mac explaining that her uncle is missing and she needs his help, he is shocked. Delilah rarely asks for help. She is one of the toughest, most independent women he knows. Of course, her vulnerability pulls at his heartstrings and he finds it very difficult to keep his distance. She is the kind of woman that could destroy his life.
Delilah has a major thing for Mac. She has since she met him. He has turned down all her propositions and advances. Right now she is worried about her uncle and confused about Mac’s behavior toward her.
After there had been two attempts to kidnap Delilah and the CIA gets involved, the truth about the abduction of her uncle and his friend comes to light. Delilah and the Knights are shocked and determined to find him. Keeping Delilah safe is a top priority for Mac, no matter what his feelings are.
This is the second book in the Knights series that I’ve read. I really like the storyline. It’s a different take on spies. This group appears to be a motorcycle club with a motorcycle shop as a front. They work specifically for the president. They are well trained and a collection of men from other agencies and military branches.
Delilah is an awesome character. She is a strong independent woman who goes after what she wants. She is an example of my favorite type of female lead character. She and Mac dance around each other for four years and she hasn’t given up.
This book is just as action packed as the last one. There are shocking revelations and more history revealed about some of the guys. I will definitely keep reading the series. I give it a 4 out of 5.
