Book Blurb

Wild, fun, and impulsive, Tansy has a different look and a new passion every week. As a cancer survivor who spent the past several years waiting to die, Tansy has a fresh perspective on life—even if she doesn’t have a clue about what she actually wants to do with it. But she’s determined to find out, and that means making the most of her time while she still can.
From the very beginning, their chemistry is intense. But while Ash can’t stop chasing the ghosts of what can never be, Tansy stays firmly focused on the possibilities the world holds for her—and for them. She’s already picked up the pieces of one shattered life. Now she’s determined to help Ash do the same.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala
Ash Lewis lost his parents in a car accident and his younger brother is still hospitalized. Ash is trying to make the snowboarding Olympic team with his friend Z. In a moment as he goes for a run, he decides he no longer has the heart to snowboard and gives it up. He settles in to working at the resort and caring for his paralyzed brother, Logan.
Tansy arrives at the resort looking to talk to Ash. She works for The Make A Wish Foundation. One of the children wants to snowboard with Ash. Ash can’t leave Logan and turns Tansy down. In his quilt ridden mind, he is afraid that he will fail Logan. But when Logan takes things into his own hands, Ash is forced to give in.
He and Tansy also have to admit the attraction they have for each other. Tansy and Ash grow closer on the trip but Tansy is determined to keep her health as a secret. She and Ash are just having fun and it won’t lead to anything once they go home. She knows if he knew the truth, he wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Everything changes when Tansy has a scare concerning her heath and the Make a Wish trip is cut short. Everyone learns Tansy’s secret, including Ash.
This is the second book in the An Extreme Risk Series. I have read both books and loved them. Ash’s story is heartbreaking. He has lost so much and has taken on the responsibility of his brother. It’s no wonder he’s barely hanging on. The reader can feel his pain and frustration. Tansy is a breath of fresh air and completely understands the situation. She is exactly what Ash needs.
One of the themes for this book is to live each day. It is woven throughout the sadness, love, and frustration. There are many characters in this book who are trying to do just that. It was an eye opening read including the cancer angle. I definitely recommend it to all and give it a 4 out of 5.
