Book Blurb & Info
by Felicity Heaton
The moment the demon King Thorne of the Third Realm set eyes on the mortal huntress Sable, he knew she was his fated one. The fiery, dangerous female awakened hungers he had never experienced before, a dark craving and passion that has consumed him in their time apart. As the lunar cycle wanes, she enters his world again and nothing will stand in the way of him claiming his forever with her—not the relentless assault from the Fifth Realm or the dark elf male determined to seduce her out of his grasp.
Intent on achieving the coveted position of commander at Archangel, Sable leads her small team into the dark underworld and the Third Realm, to a war where her allies are the very creatures she normally hunts—vampires, werewolves, and demons. Her eagerness to lead the deadly mission has everything to do with winning her promotion, and nothing to do with the kingdom’s brash, lethally seductive demon king—a king who stirred fierce desire and wildfire heat in her with just a look and an innocent touch when they first met, and has been in her wicked dreams ever since.
As the gathering storm between rivals unleashes irresistible passion that flares white-hot and the heat of the battle brings life-shattering realisations, can Sable place her duty before her heart? Or will she surrender to her deepest desires and be claimed by a demon king?

Author Interview
Hi Felicity,
Thank you so much for sitting down with Toot's for an interview. If you don't mind, I have some questions for you about your series Eternal Mates, your new book, Claimed by a Demon King, and your process for our budding authors as well as fans.
So first off, your newest book is part of your series, Eternal Mates. Let's talk about the series as a whole...
In your own words, what is the Eternal Mates series about?
The Eternal Mates series is a spin-off from my Vampire Erotic Theatre series, and both of them are paranormal romance series. This one focuses on the broader world outside of the theatre in the original series and all the different fae, demon and supernatural species there, as well as a demon-hunting organization called Archangel.
Readers will get to adventure in fae towns hidden in our world, or in demon bars, and take trips into Hell where the dark elves live in their paradise-like kingdom and the seven powerful demon kings rule their grim realms, and often war with each other. Demons and elves aren’t the only immortal creatures living in Hell though. There’s the Devil and his loyal demons too, gods and goddesses, dark witches and fallen angels, dragon shifters and bear shifters, among others.
What inspired the series?
I was inspired to write the Eternal Mates series because I wanted to explore the world of the Vampire Erotic Theatre more and delve deeper into the lives of the other species I had mentioned and touched on in that series. I also wanted to bring elves into the world of paranormal romance and give a new spin on them, and also on the concept of fated mates. Each species in the series has a different way of knowing their mates and a different set of rules for courting them. I love being able to explore this huge world and bring in a multitude of paranormal species.
Kissed by a Dark Prince was the first book, and it introduced the dark elves, a race that are actually the forefathers of the vampires and who have little love for that species. It’s packed with passion and tension, and some seriously hot action, and I think all of the books in the series will be just as hot and passionate, and dramatic. There’s a six chapter sample of the book on my website: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/kissed-by-a-dark-prince-paranormal-romance-novel.php
In Claimed by a Demon King, the second book, I had a demon hero, a hunter heroine, plus dark elves, vampires, werewolves, bear and dragon shifters, and witches too. It’s incredible fun writing the characters in this series too. Every single one of them has really captured my imagination and I’ve fallen hard for this world because of them.
Can you tell us a bit about the newest book in the series, Claimed by a Demon King?
Claimed by a Demon King is the second book in the Eternal Mates romance series, following on from Kissed by a Dark Prince. It takes us down into Hell, to the Third Realm and the demon king Thorne’s war to protect his kingdom from the Fifth Realm. Things are heating up down there, with the Fifth King constantly pushing Thorne’s forces to their limit and weakening his numbers. Of course, things will be heating up for another reason when Prince Loren leads his legion of elves to Thorne’s aid and Sable leads her band of mortal hunters from Archangel with him. Thorne has been dreaming of Sable since first setting eyes on her, and the huntress can’t seem to keep the burly demon king out of her wicked dreams either, but she isn’t about to sit back and let the demon king claim her without a fight.
Readers can download a six chapter sample of the book on my website: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/claimed-by-a-demon-king-paranormal-romance-novel.php
How did you come up with the title of your newest book in the series and can you tell us its significance?
All of the titles of the books in the series will follow a set pattern. The first was Kissed by a Dark Prince, signifying the moment when dark elf prince Loren bites Olivia and binds them together. I think Claimed by a Demon King is quite self-explanatory, but it certainly summed up Thorne’s relentless pursuit of Sable. The next book in the series is Tempted by a Rogue Prince, and is all about Vail, who is Loren’s brother and is somewhat maddened by terrible things that have happened to him, and that he has done, and Rosalind, who is a witch with a very bad prediction for her future. Let’s just say the temptation Vail represents might just be the death of her!
How does the new book,Claimed by a Demon King, fit into the series?
Claimed by a Demon King follows on from the first book, which ended with King Thorne of the Third Realm of demons gaining Prince Loren of the elves pledge to assist him in his war. This book is all about the war between the Third Realm and the Fifth Realm, and of course about bringing Archangel huntress extraordinaire Sable and the delicious King Thorne together.
How many books are planned for the series?
I don’t have a set amount, but I have revealed that there will be books for Bleu of the dark elves, Kyter of the jaguar shifters, Lord Van der Garde of the vampires, Fenix of the incubi, a very naughty dragon shifter, and a somewhat haughty angel warrior. So, right now, I have a further six to write after Tempted by a Rogue Prince.
What genre would you say Claimed by a Demon King is and what sets your book apart for fans of the genre?
It’s paranormal romance, and I think the world and the species will set it apart for fans of the genre. I hadn’t read a paranormal romance featuring dark elves as leading characters before and I really wanted to bring them into the paranormal romance fold and show readers that they are definitely contenders for the title of hottest alpha heroes. My dark elves are actually the progenitors of the vampires in the series. Also, if readers love huge worlds and massive world building, with a multitude of paranormal species, then they will definitely get a fix of that in this series, with regular travel between the three realms – Hell, Heaven and the mortal one – and masses of different species of shifters, angels, demons, fallen angels, dark elves, vampires, demon hunters, witches, and other fae species like incubi, succubi, nymphs and sirens… and the list goes on!
What was your favorite scene to write in Claimed by a Demon King?
I loved a few of them, but I really loved King Thorne and Sable’s first kiss and everything that led up to it.
What was the hardest scene to write for Claimed by a Demon King?
The huge and somewhat epic battle scene. It’s hard to keep track of all the major characters and make sure you cover them all for the readers.
What is your favorite line or quote from Claimed by a Demon King?
Wow. I really don’t think I could pick just one out. There are so many moments I love, and Sable has a slew of funny observations and witty comebacks.
Writing.......
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated and what made you decide to pursue it as a career?
I wrote a little in school when I was a teenager because we had to write the opening chapter of a gothic horror and it really got my mind working, and my teacher liked mine so much that she read it out to the class. I wrote more for it, had a whole plan for the story, but then schoolwork took over and it fell to the wayside. I didn’t write until 2003 after that. I got really into writing fanfiction for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and was running my own fanfiction website for my stories. A friend who was writing the same genre as me convinced me to give writing something original with my own characters a go. I took a little convincing but I took the leap and really loved it. I began publishing my books back in 2006 after being with an e-publisher for a year. It was just something I came to naturally. I didn’t set out to be a writer. It just sort of evolved into my career. I was actually a full-time web developer throughout most of my years I was writing too, balancing both. I went full-time writer in 2011 and I still can’t believe this is my job!
What inspires you to put the pen to paper or fingers to the keyboard?
My love of writing. I am happiest when I’m writing and creating new adventures for my beloved characters. It’s my passion for it that keeps me inspired, and my wonderful readers. They really inspire me to keep writing new books, but sometimes they leave me a little daunted too. The expectations can be so high but I have to remind myself that I have to write the story my way, and I can’t please everyone.
What are some of the elements in/of your writing process?
I plot. I plan. I sit down and write. I’m huge on the planning, and it makes writing so much easier for me. I don’t really have what I would call a process. It’s not really any different to what every author has to do. Plan the book, understand the characters, and write the book.
Are you a Plotter or a Panster?
I’m a plotter. I write outlines for all of my books, and put together character profiles for all major characters too, and gather information about the world. I’m very thorough in my preparation. My outlines are compiled from all the notes / scenes I’ve written down while working on other stories and then filling in the gaps. Sometimes, my outlines end up huge! The outline for Claimed by a Demon King, which is the second book in the Eternal Mates series, was around 25,000 words. That shows you how serious I am about plotting before writing. The outline was a quarter of the length of the first draft of the book! It really helps me work in any plot twists and misdirection if I plan it all out in advance. I do let the characters have their way at times, but normally the book follows the outline.
Have you released anything under a different pen name, and if so, is there any difference between them?
No, I haven’t.
What's next for you?
I’m currently working on the first draft of Tempted by a Rogue Prince, which is the third book in the Eternal Mates series, and I’m gearing up for the release of Hunger, which is a book in my Vampires Realm series. Readers can find an excerpt from that coming release on my website: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/hunger-vampire-romance-novel.php
Is there anything you’d like to add or say to your fans?
Thanks for reading the books I write and supporting me, and you always astound me with your enthusiasm for my stories and for my characters. You all rock!
Personal questions......
Now I know this is like asking you to choose between your own children, but out of all your amazing characters, who is your favorite and why?
I have a top ten for my heroes. Valentine, from the Prophecy Trilogy, always occupied the #1 spot until recently. He’s been usurped by characters I haven’t written romances for yet—Esher from my upcoming Guardians of Hades series—and also Vail from my Eternal Mates series. I love them because they’re tortured, a little bit crazy, and very hot.
I really enjoyed writing Snow in my Vampire Erotic Theatre series too. Another tortured hero, and a huge favourite with my readers. I think Snow is the character who gave me the green light to write the heroes I really love writing, the messed up crazy ones who need a good woman to set them back on the right path and help them through their trials.
Are there any of your stories or characters that hold a special place in your heart?
Many of them. Heart of Darkness, Forbidden Blood, Love Immortal are my top three for my standalone romances and I really can’t choose between my series books because it all depends on what series I’m writing at the time. I love them all.
If the book or series had to have a theme song, what would it be?
The Eternal Mates has a whole playlist! I can’t boil it down into one song. I have around 30 of them, all of them with meaning to one character or another, or sometimes more than one.
Lastly, What 5 things do fans not know about you and 5 they don't know about the series?
I would love to be able to list five things my readers don’t know about me, but I think I’ve bared my soul so much that I’ve left nothing of me hidden. I’m an open book. I can only give five things people probably do know about me: I’m a cinnamon addict; I write books I would love to read; I’m an archer; I love playing RPGs; I have wanderlust.
As for the series, I have five things I could say, but all of them are huge spoilers, and I really don’t like giving away spoilers about anything.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for taking time to answer some questions. Congratulations on the new book and I can't wait for everyone to read it!
