Review : Undercover with the Hottie (Investigating the Hottie #2) by Juli Alexander (YA)

Book Blurb

Amanda and Will are back! This time, they're heading to New York City the day after Christmas. The mission: stop an assassination plot against the UN Secretary General. Aunt Christie and her partner Nic, are back as well, and playing the role of the parents on the undercover operation.

As for Amanda and Will, they're still adjusting to the boyfriend-girlfriend thing, but while in the Big Apple, they are pretending to be brother and sister. Oh, and don't forget Grandma. She's on the team as well. Can Will and Amanda convince the New York teens that they're twins? Can they track down the bad guys before the ball drops in Times Square? Because if they fail, lives will be lost and the UN and the US may never be the same.

Toot's Review by Stacy Sabala

Amanda and Will are back. They have been dating long distance for a couple months and now find themselves together in NYC undercover as brother and sister. They are both nervous about their covers. Acting like brother and sister instead of boyfriend and girlfriend is going to be a major challenge. Their undercover operation is at stake.

They go in and make friends with teens who have parents working in the UN. They are supposed to be finding the person behind an assassination plot. So when their covers are blown, the level of danger goes up and they are running out of time.

This book is the second in the YA series for this author. It picks up after Investigating the Hottie left off. These are entertaining spy stories involving teens. The storyline is action packed and full of humor. The characters are likable and normal.

Amanda and Will are cute together. It is difficult for them to act like brother and sister which causes all sorts of problems and worries for the op. It also causes a bit of humor and light heartedness among their serious spy assignment. It was a fun read and I give it a 4 out of 5.
