“You didn’t say anything about bondage.”

He shook his head. “It isn’t bondage. It’s protection.”

Fear thickened as I looked into his eyes. “Protection? From what?”

He stood, his colourless gaze ripping me bare. “Me.” --HAZEL

 

It was the best kiss I’d ever received, but also the worst. It sparked lust and need in every inch of me. My lips wanted more, my tongue wanted savagery. My skin wanted to bruise because he needed to touch me so badly.

All my thoughts disappeared as I nipped at his bottom lip. He flinched, but a second later he copied, his sharp canines piercing my oversensitive flesh.

I moaned.

I couldn’t take it.

My hands flew up and gripped his shirt. Yanking him toward me, fireworks whizzed in my fingertips; my heart galloped toward exploding with lust. I’d never been so drunk on someone before.

Then I landed flat on my back.

The crack of my skull jangled my teeth. The thick carpet did little to cushion me. My eyes flared wide and I grunted in pain. Fear, hot and terrible, swamped my lust in a dampening wave.

“Top rule. Unbreakable rule. Don’t. Ever. Touch. Me.” Fox kneeled on one knee beside my head, breathing hard. His hand noosed my throat, pressing my spine into the carpet. His eyes were cold and lifeless, looking like a hunter intent on blood. –HAZEL


My eyes flared. “Why on my stomach? A vital part of my anatomy isn’t useable unless you intend to teach me how to dry hump a mattress.” I tried to joke, to dispel some of the tense anxiety between us, but Zel’s lips only twitched. I’d mistaken any sense of relief when she secured the padlock—she hadn’t relaxed at all, shaking with tension.

“I want to do something.”

Fuck. She wanted to touch my back. She wanted to look deeper at the tattoos, see beneath the ink to the lash marks and countless other scars hidden beneath the Ghost designs. --ROAN

Hi Pepper,

Thank you so much for sitting down with Toot's for an interview. If you don't mind, I have some questions for you about your new book Destroyed and your process for our budding authors as well as fans.

So first off, Destroyed Questions.......

In your own words, what is Destroyed about?

It follows a man with a broken past. He was turned into a weapon and has the inability to touch. It’s about his journey to find a cure—using everyone he can, including Hazel. He fights, is dark and demanding, and rather broken in a strong kind of way.

How did you come up with the title of the book and can you tell us its significance?

It fit the character of Roan Fox perfectly. He has to be destroyed to find redemption

What genre would you say Destroyed is and what sets your book apart for fans of the genre?

I’m known for writing Dark Erotica which is my first love. However, I wanted to see if I could write something less brutal. I would say Destroyed is Grey Romance. Not fluffy, but not too graphic either.

Is Destroyed a standalone book or will it be part of a series?

Yes, stand alone. No cliffhanger. It’s a big book at 144,000 words

What was your favorite scene to write for either your hero or heroine in Destroyed?

I think my favourite scene is the last chapter in Hazel’s POV. I can’t give much more than that as I’ll spoil it!!

What was the hardest scene to write?

Again, I can’t share as that will ruin the entire book. But I think people will know when they read it! It’s pretty sad to read and was heartbreaking to write.

What's your favorite line or quote from this book?

Destroyed by Love. Possessed by Hope. I got some rubber bracelets done with the quote I loved it so much.

Writing.......

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated and what made you decide to pursue it as a career?
Yes, I’ve always been an avid reader and writer. I’ve never not had a notebook or living in my imagination. I guess it was a natural progression from book worm to author.

What inspires you to put the pen to paper or fingers to the keyboard?

My characters inspired me to start, but it’s my love for my readers that keeps me going. I love delivering a book that I’ve put my heart and soul into and they love it.

What are some of the elements in/of your writing process?

I tend to delete a lot of scenes as I get to know the characters. I do about 5-6 drafts before I’m satisfied.

Are you a Plotter or a Panster?

A bit of both. But I would have to say more panster.

Have you released anything under a different pen name, and if so, is there any difference between them?

No. I was thinking of releasing Destroyed under a pen name so people who expect dark from me don’t get surprised, but I was too lazy.

What's next for you?

Twisted Together which is the monsters in the dark third book. And a surprise I’ve been working on called Indebted.

Is there anything you’d like to add or say to your fans?

I’d love to say thank you so much!! Thank you for their endless support, messages, and excitement. I couldn’t do it without them.

Personal questions......

Now I know this is like asking you to choose between your own children, but out of all your amazing characters, who is your favorite and why?

Q for sure. I think it will always be Q. I just love how deliciously dark he is. I fell for him the moment I knew his reasons in the epilogue in Tears of Tess.

Are there any of your stories or characters that hold a special place in your heart?

Yes, Roan Fox probably. He’s completely different to Q but he’s strong in his own way.

If the book had to have a theme song, what would it be?

Tears of Tess would be Demon by Imagine Dragons and Quintessentially Q would be Monster by Imagine Dragons.

Can you describe for the readers a perfect day or date for your couple from Destroyed?

Perfect date would be doing something simple like holding hands. Walking along the beach.

Lastly, let's steal an idea from the magazines.....What 5 things do fans not know about you?
